Even at 3:00am the only clothes that were needed were underwear..

It was HOT at night even..

Okay.. Wake up at 7:00 am with the sun. Feeling, well, tired...

Make some coffee, eat a bowl of malt-O-Meal frosted mini wheats with skim milk.. Very unsatisfying to say the least..

Only good thing that morning was this cup of self heating hot Chocolate.. F'n cool actually.. push a button on the canned thingie and it heats up.. Camping necessity..

9:00 after driving up to the top of the hill for cell service I head to camp to find the crew being lead by Tim Floridan and Hobie (backdoor and resolution). Nobodd to be seen.

Drive around and figure that I had just missed them. Head on over to BD..

Not a single person on the trail.. But, there happened to be the guy that I ran the trail last year sitting on the hill watching.. Nobody had been there yet..

bout 15 mins later Tim and the Redbull team show up. Blast pass us as I wave hi and head to the trail..

I figure that since they are moving so fast I'll just catch them after the waterfall.. Did I mention that the Ps reservoir was dumping fluid on the pump, which was making it spin like a madman.. the only time I could steer was at 2500 rpm and above.. I figured resolution would be okay as long as I left it in stupid low and pinned it.. I had two full tanks and was ready to go..

Up the kill and down the sand..

Hmm, kinda lonely...

I wandered down to the second waterfall and started to watch..

Tim made it up fairly easily.. as did the second rig in his group. From there it became a bit tedious...

One of the pissers about Backdoor is that it does not have ANY shade..

After the first and second rig made it up the 2nd waterfall a sammy on mogs was trying it. Cool rig actually. The owner was somehow attached to R&P films.. And he brought his wife and baby girl along.. Little girl was okay when she was driving but grumpy when they stopped ;)

Time for the Redbull team..

Wow.. Becca kept overheating.. Bad. She was driving the Rockher and her son and her mechanic kept switching driving in the old Rockit.

I want to say it took Becca at least 4 tries (10 to 15 mins between each try) to get up the hill. in between her attempts others tried. The original buggy that dustin replaced his jeep with (Walker Evans old rig) managed to spit out the lower DS rear coil bucket and mangle the dual rate slider (SAW dual rate sliders suck ass..) with a bit of flexing and a bunch a duct tape we got him back on the trail.

There was another F toy that was creating the biggest smoke screen.. It FILLED the canyon. The pic I have is the lightest smoke..

gotta love the rock stackers,

sweet pics you got more of your rig?

Eventually everyone made it..

Throttle was the only thing that seemed to matter.

On the way out Tim decided to play a bit. he got VERY stuck...

He ended up driving out, but moved soem HUGE rocks in the meanwhile.

Neatest rig all weekend was a Dovetailed and dove fronted Super Duty with rear steer and 52's..

Neat rig. Did not run a single trail AFAIK..

;)

After BD (1:00 pm) I was getting damn hungry and just feeling like crap.. Hobie finally showed up (our tailgunner) and the group headed towards resolution. Which is SERIOUSLY stacked now a days.. After watching some stupid lines that were designed to roll a rig I decided to play gentleman and take the RP films owner (he was filming for the next hauling and crawling) back to his camp for lunch. (throttle pinned the entire way)

Loaded up the rig and drove home.

the heckle session on BD was fun. Even more so that a mostly stock mini was able to make it.

Later that night another mini broke his DS and both front D60 stub shafts on a full throttle climb.. No clue how he did it, but he made a lot of sparks ;)

No and I probably won't actually. I'll walk it but my rig still has too much sheet metal to not ruin it on that trail..

Haha, I can't believe im gonna say this but, great right up Mace. Looked like fun. Almost sounded like you should have stayed home monday from work. Looks like I would have had my ass handed to me on that trail.

I love your rig mace. Now one question, why did you fill up the tires with water? For extra weight? I would think that with the water in the tires, it wouldn't be able to grip as well because the sidewalls can't flex with water in there, but I don't really know.
