My use case is reducing wildfire smoke. Is anyone making a MERV 13 filter yet in this form factor? I haven't seen ratings
on Densos or any others at all--which tells me they're not true hepa (merv13+). Maybe a custom one could be made or retrofitted to the plastic frame?
This says the majority of wildfire smoke (of concern) is 2.5 to 0.1 microns:

So options so far are...
1. "AirTechnik": Says it filters 5 micron and larger. So not totally effective for wildfire:

2. Denso: "captures dirt particles of multiple sizes", so not rated.

3. Lexus 88568-60010. No rating I can find:

4. Not an option but getting warmer, from Bosch: doesn't fit the LX and still probably doesn't pick up wildfire
smoke. "...meet High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) standards based on test standard ASTM D2986, and provide filtration efficiency of 99.97% at 0.3 microns*."
5. K&N: another non-option for this vehicle (as of 6/2025). "uses a specially treated filter media that blocks up to 99.6% of H1N1 and H3N2 Influenza A viruses" so it must be close to MERV13 to also block viruses.

Side question: on recirculate does the air flow through the cabin filter? or is it only inbound from outside?
Second side question: veering into unrelated but has anyone dug into the rear blower system? Could it be retrofitted with a filter? I assume it doesn't normally have one in either Lexus/LC?
