I'll show my ignorance here, but the output of his split case does not appear to be provisioned for a t-case e-brake. While I know some were, I was under the impression that the split case e-brake assemblies were fairly unobtainium.

Again, my ignorance, but I assumed the part of the e-brake hanging off the frame rail was from the original non-split case that was in their before the GM bits were installed.

I would agree

I would not spend a dime on that parking brake. My 60 hasn't had a working eBrake in months.......line lock if you must have one.

The hose is a bypass hose that pumps 90Wt back into the transmission if the seal between the two is no good. I am wondering if that is part of the adapter kit from the NV4500 and the split case.......

Are we sure that is a GM 5 speed and not a Toyota 5 speed?

Jrobs rig has a split case with the parking brake on it. Not sure how it's done but it would be worth looking at.

What are the overall plans for it?

i would like to get everything functioning properly period. im going to leave the body as-is and clean it up a good bit. im wanting to clean and spray the axles and undercarriage and frame.....

from there, i will decide if i want to keep or pass. i really have wanted one of these for a while, just have to get further into it to be sure...

i have some stuff on the way. tires/wheels. door seals. battery tray......going to fix up the wiring too....the list keeps growing....

The list never ends... Get it reliable and it will be a lot of fun!

Did I dream this up or did this really happen?

We wrenched like Bodean today son. We had that engine out on its ass in 2 hours.

Kicked ass like a 1 legged man in an asskicking contest.

This is a great truck.

It was built....or I am assuming it was all built out in the 80's or 90's as a "Yeah, I need that just send it" from Specter.

The grill guard, the rubber front fender flares, the Con Fer fuel cell ...... the H55.....all this stuff screams Specter.

The V8 is the old school conversion that uses the round puck motor mounts and the rear crossmember that bolts to the back of the transfer case.

Lou needs to split is all apart and reseal everything. It has that pump hose between the transfer and the tranny.

Any advice and link help for Lou is appreciated. I used to know all this stuff but my mind is gone......

Thanks @wngrog for the help and posting and another shout out to @beno for the wrenching help.

I just wanted a clutch....."that's all it needs" was what I was hoping was still true. Oh well. Here we go. Getting a few more parts. Lots of hardware and gonna sort out the s*** wiring on this thing......

Look at that washer assortment. Ballin.

Also. Look closely right above the 2 steel bars, you'll see what looks like an electrical outlet cover.....????

That 40 looks identical to one that used to sit backed into a driveway on Plantation Blvd in the 1990s. I drove by it daily for years. Even had a Chevota engine and was placarded as such.

i seem to remember one on plantation now too....i remember one being backed in the driveway against teh garage door....i am working to get a little more info on it right now as well....

Regardless of the radiator (you need a 4 core) you MUST have a fan shroud that covers the whole radiator. In the case of both of Jrobs V8 rigs they had to be custom made. We've been there and done all of the recommended fixes only to figure out that if there is not air moving across the entire radiator then both of his would run hotter than you'd want to run them.
