awe bummer. good you can still walk it off...you are lucky, as bad as that sounds...buy some lotto tickets!

@onemanarmy My tow rig was a 2003 Toyota Tundra, tire brand Cooper Discovery, I had about 45,000 miles on them supposed to be 60,000 mile tires. I didn't see anything in the road it just happened to be a really rough road in west Texas.

Man that is really sh*tty. Sorry for the loss but glad you are OK. What part of CA are going to? I suppose SoCal if you were on 10. If they total your pig at least the buy back should be fairly cheap. Main rig turns to a parts pig just like that. So sad.

I got stationed at FT Irwin so I am in the Barstow area now. This will be interesting, I have to find all the cruiser heads out here so I can start making some connections. I will be replacing my rig hopefully sooner then later. I need to join the TCLA so I can start doing things with like minded people and find the trails out here.

You could either cruise down to meet up with LA people--a lot of 80 series down there, or come over the hills to Bakersfield and points North.

Look in the Clubhouse section for CA clubs.

@reevesci I really appreciate that. I was already thinking about contacting you once I got a new rig to replace the pig. I was so excited when I put the bumper and rack on my pig it looked so damn good. Now I have to start all over. Like always it was great doing business with you and look forward to it in the future hopefully near future.

@ToyotaDon i will definitely look into the clubhouse section dirt things first is to find a new rig once my insurance company gets the appraisals done.

Don't be afraid to push back on the insurance if you feel the valuation sucks. They likely have no idea what a Pig is worth. I fought State Farm over valuation on my '94 Civic when they kept screwing it up. They finally farmed the valuation out to a 3rd party - much better.

Doesn't the Army pay your travel costs? Your travels just cost you a pig. I think our defense budget can afford you a nice piggy. I have done a lot of work at Ft Irwin, lovely place. I am in San Diego and so are a few other pig owners on Mud. At least 3 other pig owners down here that aren't on Mud. I am not in any associations but i should be. Maybe when i actually get the pile running for more than a few months.

I wish they would buy me a nice piggy. They definitely won't pay for a nice new pig though lol. I was house hunting two days ago and seen two 40's and a 55 series in someone's back yard tried to know on the door but no answer. It may have been kinda weird for a random stranger wearing a iron pig preservation society shirt to come up to your door but oh well I figure a cruiser head is a cruiser head. We have to meet up sometime @Megadoomer

Dang just saw this thread.. Sorry to hear about your pig but like everyone else has stated at least your ok!! Someone was looking out for ya!!!

@whitey45 I sent your classified ad about the 1970 FJ55 to @Walkerm916. Marcus is serving in the military and unfortunately totaled his Pig when he was relocating across the country. This would be a good project for him, but he may need a military discount. It would be good to get a piggie back in the sty.

Hopefully he contacts you to discuss possibilities.
