The replacement 37 gallon... Any pics showing where the extra tank "size" is located??

WIth the 4.7L V8 in the 80 I have a different exhaust and other bits.. Looking to see where all that extra fuel is located ;)

Thanks,

John

My 24 gallon is on it's way! Sure appreciate Ward and his crew helping to make this a doable project, and catching this sale! I'm looking forward to not having to deal with jerry cans. I stewed over which to get and I'm sure at some point I'll regret not going with the larger 42 gallon - especially when they're the same price. And also my '94 is built for overlanding. But, I do like to dabble in the rock crawling world and I figured this: About the only time I'd regret getting the 42 gallon is after I put a hole in it. The 24 gallon alone, almost doubles my range and that, for me, would take care of most situations and helped me decide. I still have the 12 gallons of Roto Pax, plus some 5 gallon containers I can put on the trailer for extreme range situations.

I LOVE my 24 gallon tank. A real game changer for how I use my cruiser. Having an honest 550 mile plus range on the highway and several hundred miles off road has really changed how I drive my truck.

Not sure the 37 Gal replacement will fit in my application, so an aux tank might be the ticket.

What are you guys doing with the exhaust? I've got a 2.5" custom that I doubt would work.....

Here is what I have going on now:

Opened the pdf for the FZJ80 replacement tank and need some clarifications:

Long Range tank.webp

Should that not read:
Location as LH side of driveshaft, not RH
Relocate Spare No, not Yes
Since when has the FZJ80 been consider a "pick up" in North America

I've got the 37 and you should be fine. My exhaust routing is pretty similar to yours...but yours looks a lot better! Damn I need to get under there with a sprinkler. FWIW my tank has been in there a long time and has proven to be a pretty tough customer. Also interesting, when the fuel light comes on, you still have 10 gallons in there.

Thanks Mark -

Appreciate the pics.. For the 37 I have an aftermarket (Slee) Skid plate for the 4.7L conversion that is also the trans crossmember. I don't think there is room at the front for the tank.

My exhaust question was more for the aux tank... Just didn't know where people were taking their exhaust when running a 24 gal aux...

Thanks,

J

Yup, all true, which is why we fired the marketing guy and are converting the product listings/detail sheets from static PDF to dynamic content like the LRA sit in Australia here Toyota Landcruiser FZJ80 140L Replacement

One of the few remaining mods I'd still like to do to my truck. Can you guys do the install if I come to Boise? Install cost?
Sorry, no shop in Boise, just the offices and three bodies. Go see Georg at Valley Hybrids if you want @orangefj45

When did you locate to Boise?
Short story - October 2018

Long story - My 98 year old MIL needed care we could not provide at home on Whidbey Island and we found a great residence/care program at a OFH in Boise. Tried commuting every couple weeks from Sea-Tac but with the Winter weather and holidays coming, we figured it would be easier to just rent a place - ended up in a nice house in Eagle with the Whidbey house still on the market.

Really happy with the news, looking forward to buying here and leasing warehouse/office to more the rest of the business. There are now three of us working out of the Eagle house plus Georg and the warehouse crew in Stockton.

Do these tanks utilize the factory straps?
New straps included per Aussie instructions and fit kit attached.

We are working on new instruction documents for North America...... :)

I’d be willing to do the instructions/photo documentation of a 37g main gas tank installation for the right discount. ;)
