Ward,

I'm missing it somewhere, but can you provide the 37gal replacement tank dimensions please.

OR - Is the tank wider and longer, or just deeper for the additional 12 gallons? I'll probably need to send you pics of the underside of my setup with the 4.7L with larger skid plate.

Thanks,

John

Dims are 53 long, 22 wide, 20 tall. We (the tank sellers) cannot opine on what will fit, even with good photos. If you want to ask Georg's opinion as a fabricator/shop owner, please send by email to ward@longrangeamerica.com and georg@cruiserbrothers.com :)

So is there ant way to calibrate the fuel gauge to the replacement tank or are you doomed to have it show empty with a lot of fuel remaining? Thanks!

One of the few remaining mods I'd still like to do to my truck. Can you guys do the install if I come to Boise? Install cost?

I would be more than happy to do it for or better yet with ya. ;)

Cheers

Instruction state for petrol to bend pickup down 60MM I believe. The instructions were in one of the above posts.

Best,

John~

Finished installing my 24 gallon aux over the weekend. My tranny jack helped me do it solo. It's true stealth - can't tell that its there, unless you're looking for it. Gauge/switch has a real professional finish - looks like factory option. I'm jazzed - this mod is mandatory:hillbilly:- Some pics to muse:

That's better, but still pretty much out of harm's way. Bottom of tank sets at least 2"-3" above top of rear axle tubes.

@80t0ylc

If you ever get a chance, could you measure the distance from the sides of tank to the corresponding frame rails for me?? Any pics would also be great. I've got exhaust fitment concerns and a compressor on the other side and I'm looking to see what work will need done prior.

Best,

John

Great job. What do you think of doing the install yourself? And some pictures of the exhaust the rear crossmember would be great too.

Edit: Wow the website is way better than the last time I looked

1.75" from tank to frame rail on both sides. 1.5" from tank to front crossmember, but you also have the front tank bracket, that is part of kit, in that distance. Looking at your pic in post#7 earlier in this thread....that looks nice but will need to be re-routed which you'll see in pics.
Taken from about center of rig looking down the angle of stock exhaust by the tank. Closest spot is less than an inch.

Directly up as exhaust passes rear of tank. You can see end of rear tank mounting bracket from kit that bolts into OEM spare carrier holes.

Hope this helps!

Thanks! It actually was fun. Yeah, been in touch with Ward and they're updating the aux tank for 80 Series kits today. Also gave him my procedure for doing a solo install. I had the tranny jack from my axle rebuild project. It's been one of the more helpful tools from Harbor Freight. Do the pics from my answer post to @Overland Tailor give you what you need?

That really helps - I knew i was not going to be that lucky... Lol

Reroute exhaust and remove frame mounted compressor on the other side.. Ugh

Thanks so very much for taking those.

John

Interesting..mileage is always a problem for me. How much lower than the stock tank does the 37 gallon sit? Concerned about basjing it on rocks....

How much would it cost to ship to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada?

Also wondering how much lower the 37 gallon tank sits.
Attached is a draft, I repeat.....DRAFT..... of the 37 gal replacment tank install procedure. There are pics in it that you can compare to your stock tank. Remember, this is just a DRAFT and not the final procedure. I've been in contact with Ward and he PM'd this attachment to me today. Hope this helps.

Great mod!

Any recommendations on installers in the Denver area?

I bought one from Ward this spring and installed it myself. I have very limited mechanical abilities. Took me a while, like everything does, with a 4x4 labs bumper. Some fitment issues. But it works extremely well.

And how does it sit? Does it drop below the frame? Tough to tell from the pics but the stock tank is tucked up pretty well.
