I just paid the equivalent of $5.21 USD/USgal.
Its a short drive to Blane now with that new Bridge......the toll kind of kills the savings tho. Diesel in Blane 3 days ago was $3.99/gal, I have a feeling its over $4 now tho.
Has anyone considered converting these blue plastic barrels for fuel use?I won't be driving to Blaine, time, fuel cost...false economy for me.
What ratio are you using now? Pure or waste oil?I will be upping the ratio of veggie in my fuel as we warm up.![]()

Great to know! But unfortunately I just realized you're probably running it in an in-line pump on an engine with pre-combustion chambers... I know it can be done on our direct injected 1HD-Ts but it's NOT a 'no-brainer'... Although I am SERIOUSLY thinking about doing it and what it will require
Have you looked at the pistons yet? I presume a thin enough fiber optic snake camera could do it...
Yes, 2H, inline pump and pre-cups. No, haven't looked at the pistons. Why do you ask?
I am presuming it is related to the claim running veggie or bio causes increased carbon build-up on the pistons.
LOL! How would one tell on an engine with over 500 thou on it?![]()
To see if there is any evidence of coking on the top ring, and scoring on the cylinder... I guess it would be difficult to see in your case because of the pre-cups; on the 1HD-T, since it is direct injected one could presumably see directly into the the main chamber by removing glow plugs or injectors...Yes, 2H, inline pump and pre-cups. No, haven't looked at the pistons. Why do you ask?
127.9 here.
The delica boys were saying in 2008 that when it got over 1.33 it was cheaper for them to buy straight veggy oil cubes.
Thats crazy if you ask me.
WVO system is going to be SERIOUSLY looked at.
