I was looking at the UFA's bulk prices last week... 64 cents if you buy a truckload. How many litres are in a tank truck? Think a Land Cruiser club could go through one truckload of summer fuel and one truckload of winter fuel every year?

Now, where to park it?

I don't imagine you would be 'parking' anything, they'd probably want the tanker and pump the fuel into tanks.

How much fuel does one of these puppy's hold?

i hear a rumor that in the Bay Area, CA I can get biodiesel for about $2.50/gallon, minimum 100 gallons.

I know for sure that I filled up yesterday in monterey, CA for 3.11/gallon (at the quick gas by Del Monte, I think, Casa Verde exit from hwy1)

so the biodiesel is a nice savings

There's a small tanker agricultural and industrial diesel refueling service here in the Fraser Valley that is supposed to be doing bulk sales in Bio. I think I might give them a call and if their prices are good, I'll post back. 100+ Gallon above ground furnace oil tanks use to be dead cheap or free. If there are no by-laws against it, it might be a good idea.

1.15 per l here in Vancouver, it's more expensive than gas! Urgh!

Oct 26 West Vancouver island , 110.9/L and it's volume corrected.
Washington 2.65 a USG . and that works out to what the manual states, my tank gets larger as i cross the border.

I noticed this morning on vancouver island it has gone up to 113.7 per liter! From 100.9 to this in a month? WTF?

It's between 107.9 - 110.9 here. My best gues is to blame it on climatologists. They are forecasting an extreme El Nin~o year which means they expect it to be very cold across North America. That forecast puts the futures market high on home heating oil. My assumption is that if a larger part of a barrel of oil is getting made into home heating oil, it isn't being made into diesel. If the forecast is wrong, then there will be a glut of home heating oil and they will put more of that barrel of oil towards making diesel and the price will fall again. But yes, I hated when the gasser are paying less per liter than me.

" I hated when the gasser are paying less per liter than me." canucksafari no worries , Wet coast Van Island gas=115./Diesel=114. / L .

I filled my storage tank when it was 101 or so for the winter plus. Bulk buying in CASH to the delivery is one way.

The absolute lowest price!

Ever been in Venezuela? I was. This summer. Diesel: less than one US dollarcent! And gasoline for approximately 1.5 US dollarcent. So that is approx 6 cent per gallon.

last week i was paying .88L here in sask now its up to 1.01L

Jealous. . . Next door to the greatest super-power in the world and I have to pay $1.15/L for a gasoline BY-PRODUCT. Ugh.

Don't cry! I'm originally from Holland, and my family has to pay EURO 1.20 for a liter diesel, and €1.50/L for gasoline. That's approx USD 1.64 and USD 2.05!!!:bang: And for a car with the weight of a HJ60 you also pay €2800.- (USD 3800.-) road tax per year, and insurance: €650.- at least (USD890.-). But okay, if your car is an old timer (older than 25 years), you don't pay road tax anymore.
So count your fuel blessings in the north, my 4WD friend!
Btw, in Suriname, were I live for now, fuel prices are approx the same as in the states, there's no road tax here, and insurance is only USD112,- per year.

Wim the bush whity

Diesel engine fuel, heating oil, and jet engine fuel are basically the same product. Chevron in Canada - How Does an Oil Refinery Work? The price of diesel always goes up in the winter; it's supply and demand economics.=============Price per gallon is irrelevant. It's always going to be cheaper [or more expensive] than what you pay, somewhere else. No sensible person is going to drive hundreds of miles to save a few bucks per tankful. ============== $/mile is a better metric, for YOUR vehicle, YOUR driving habits, in YOUR climate, with YOUR miles per day. Burning pump diesel in my vehicle costs about 20 cents per mile, that's not a significant cost factor for me. I save more by driving more efficiently and reducing unnecessary travel than from variations due to price per gallon.

prices are climbing here--- 3.42 yesterday for a gallon of diesel while premium is at 3.39
I know that most of that is due to CA taxing diesel.

motivates me to get working on an SVO conversion. At least partial SVO.
