You should be good with nickel coated copper lines. Just make sure you have plenty of line clamps so it can't vibrate. That's what I use for my brake lines.

When I saw the coils it made me think of my coiled copper air compressor lines, didn't know they made nicopp that big!

Me neither! The FT and FTE are quite thirsty motors- 12mm in and 8mm return. So I picked up 1/2” (12.7mm) and 3/8” (9.5). Close enough.

These line clamps look amazing, I can’t wait to bend some lines.

Today was one of those days I live for. I got to FINALLY meet the legend @AlbertoSD. We got 6 guys together (@Fern1109 @davegonz @Spallet) and humped the cab onto my trailer, getting it back out to the ranch from its secret in town paint facility. We got it onto the frame and in place for hopefully the last time.

Timing belt part numbers

The 3 bolts that hold the plastic timing cover cover on are 90109-06046.

How could I possibly have not taken a picture of them?

The FT timing cover was a pain to source. I had to get it from Impex Japan.

Vacuum and PS pump union and crush washers.

It’s pretty funny, in the FT gasket kit, everything is just thrown in a bag. Luckily, with my OCD, I ordered multiple duplicates of everything and was able to go back and figure out part numbers retrospectively.

In the future I will not wait three years between disassembly and reassembly.

One of many pro tips by Alberto: be sure to fit the 90° angle turbo hose 16284-17010 that goes on the bottom of the water outlet BEFORE putting on the intake manifold. If you try to put it on afterwards, you’ll never be able to get to it.

Last for the day: A/C bracket. 88431-60260.

The damn FT/FTE brackets are impossible to get. Only Dave Stedman has been able to get them for me. I keep one in reserve at all times for emergencies.

I was going to tell you to clear coat all that pretty aluminum with high temp paint, looks too late. Sure looks nice, the stuff I had walnut blasted didn’t stay that way long

Tucker, don’t worry, this is vapor honed. I should hit it with some clear, but it’s not like media or walnut or sand blasting. It cleans and finishes all in one step.

Here’s an example of medium term followup on vapor honing durability:

When Roma rebuilt my 12HT, he vapor honed everything. I didn’t send the crossover pipes with the long block, so they are 33-year-old dirty. Every other aluminum piece was vapor honed and is still clean and shiny under a few thousand miles of road dirt.

I should probably pull the crossovers off and take them to the guy in town…
