Well, I just dropped off my used Hanna bumper this afternoon (Long Story) at El Dorado Sand Blasting and they are going to do there best to get it back to me by Friday. So if they do get it done Friday are any of you free this weekend? Or does anyone have strong saw horses I can borrow to put the bumper on for painting?

I could use some help on Saturday painting, I am not very good so a coach in patience would be nice but mostly hanging out between coats drinking a cold one.:beer::beer:
On Sunday there is no Charger game so what else are you going to do? I could use some help putting the bumper back together and installing it. I will have the help of a jack to do the heavy lifting so don't worry about your backs. :crybaby:

Oh yeah, and I live in South Park between North Park and Golden Hill in case that affects your decision.

So, are we to assume that rattle can won out with less than 10% of the votes?

I have a set of wood saw horses you can use. I can bring them over Saturday and stay long enough for a coat or two but wouldn't be able to bring them until around 12:00 - 1:00 pm. If you need them earlier we can arrange to meet Friday night and you can use them over the weekend.

Yeah, pretty funny huh.... Well I saw an ARB front bumper in person with the HammerRite stuff and it looked really good. Hopefully I can do the same thing........ But I am thinking on the inside of the bumper of just using semi gloss black. I read the HammerRite can at Home Depot and it says that it doesn't require primer but I think a couple of coats of primer will be a good idea to help it hold up to the abuse it will see.

Do you think that the wooden saw horses would hold up? I am guessing the bumper weighs in at 150-200lbs. If you think they would hold up I will pick them up from you on Friday evening, I think you lived pretty close to me.

G-damn, that's heavy. When you first posted this I was thinking you must be a pansy if you need help lifting a bumper, but damn, 200 pounds.

Does the Hanna doesn't require you to remove the rear cross-member?

I'd help, but I'm probably going to be out of town this weekend.

Yeah, it is totally a two man job to move it around. You don't have to remove the cross member, all you have to do is hack your exhaust just as it passes the rear axle. Hanna supplies a hanger for it to bolt to the frame but my muffler guy suggested I weld it so it doesn't come lose in the future. But hacking off that last resonator can does cause a whistle when you put your foot into it.

They should hold 200lbs no problem, at least they hold my 220lbs A$$ when I've used them as short scoffolding for painting and jumped up and down on them. I live in Mission Hills near Washington so we are only about 10 minutes apart. PM me and we'll work out the details on where and when to meet.

PM sent,

Is anyone else free? So far Reid & Dan look like they might swing by Saturday afternoon. Anyone available Saturday morning? I might have another small project to work on while paint is drying. A CB install on my center console.

Mark, i am tied up all weekend, but let me know if you need to upgrade your springs! :D

Oh yeah, I wish. Sliders are next on the list tho. Oh and now the stock stink bug look should go away with this bumper bolted on.

Just got off of the phone with El Dorado Sand Blasting and he is going to do his best to get it done for me today. Very good people there and they gave me a free T-Shirt. :D

Mark,
I'll probably be free saturday afternoon and/or sunday morning, if you think you can use an extra hand let me know, would be nice to meet some of the fellow san diego mudders

Well Saturday Afternoon will be a good opportunity for you to meet a couple of guys. I met Dan today and look forward to talking to him more tomorrow. But I will be wrapping things up at 3:30 because I have to leave for a Poker game/UFC party out in East Lake so don't swing by too late or you won't be able to get your hands dirty :D

Ulyses I will PM you my address & number.

Thanks to Dan for his help on Saturday and loaning me the saw horses. And today Reid stopped by and helped me take off the gasket for the tire swing and it looks like I will need a new one which will prevent me from getting the bumper done for Death Valley next weekend. And since I couldn't get the bumper done Reid helped me get my CB installed for the trip.... Now I just need to figure out where I am going to mount an antenna since I can't find a location on my tire swing where I wanted it.

It's still going, I was planning to finish up the bumper it self tonight but with this fire going on I didn't get to it. The tire swing hasn't been touched yet I need to get a new dust shield or gasket and clean out the sand.
