Since we're talking expedition. Yukon, NWT both Dempster and North Canol Road. FROZEN Mud! I had to hammer and chisel
the spring pins up to open the tailgate, exhaust on Webasto had filled with 3" of frozen mud, and the passenger door had frozen in
a partially unlatched position, so it bounced away for another 300 k until I drove into a warmer area and it worked again, thank god,
cause I didn't know how to remove the inner panel with the door closed. The tent is closed, cause I do that first thing before anything
in the morning.

Francis River crossing, just south of Francis Lake, SE corner of Yukon. The REI 'alcove' awning was a treat, worked great.
Just enough room to cook and read in the snow showers/rain. My new 'used' Extreme tent worked well and was 62 cranks
each way, less than a minute to up. Little longer to stuff the material back under, but I can see why they are so popular and
hard to find used. The outer 'winter cover' just Velcro's around the upper edge and does keep the wind out and the interior
temp more stable. Good shooting position for when there are bears in camp. HaHa! BTW - Toyo MT's and OME - nothing else ever!!

Here is a 2 min video of my 1982 Fj60. I have owned it for about 6 months and have been trying to get it rock solid for long trips. Just took it to Big Sur for its first trip and it ran great! It has 150 K and I paid 1500 for it, so im very grateful and stoked on it. Planning on a 2 inch lift probably with Ironman lifts because it is hard to justify paying more for suspension (OME) than the rig is worth!

hopefully the video post. I just bought a gopro too so , im kind of a noob with editing

Please don't build it up to much, what a sweet looking stocker!
You got a very good deal. Replace the worn out springs, bushings and shocks and stop there! Please!
Do what you like, its your sweet rig [emoji106]

thanks Pacer! That is the plan!

After the big end bearing blew in my 60, I traded up to an 80 with the bullet-proof 1HD-T. Kept the custom rack from the 60 and voilá - instant expedition rig! I sleep on the roof and keep the kids and the food inside at night. Useful for 3 weeks in the bush or a weekend at the beach.
