Ozarks this past week. The river floodplain camp was actually a private RV park but it was entirely 4-6 inch diameter river rock to get to that site.

At COTR5 in Tennessee. Use a Dometic sun/rain shelter I found on sale as a rain fly for a base camp setup rather that my awning. Also provide privacy for in group camp scenario. Wouldn’t use for just one night but was nice for 4 nights and allowed having my stuff covered while out wheeling at Windrock.

Also added 200w of solar and used for the first time to keep fridge running will hanging out in camp in the late afternoon. Worked great as I was able to get 120W or so with runs the fridge and kept the batteries topped off until dusk.

Any issues with the unimproved roads once things started to melt?
Yes. Mud was a bigger issue than the snow though the snow did made it difficult to find the track out. The lower elevation washes were filled with water, which made charting a route out a little bit of a trial and error challenge. Had I been alone, I probably would’ve just stayed put for 24 hours.

We definitely will be back. Cave spring was nice. Joint trail was really fun for the kids (6, 9 years) to get lost in the intersecting slots.
