That hard roof A-frame is super cool. How do you like it? Any issues or worries about leaks or anything?

I had an A-Liner for almost 5 years (actually just sold it last week). Mine was a Scout (much smaller than the one pictured, with no dormers). Very good little rig. A practiced hand can set it up in about 45 seconds. Not quite "air tight," not that you would necessarily want it to be, but never any issues with water intrusion even setting up and using in the snow and rain. If heavy winds are a possibility, it's best to make a rachet strap to throw over the top to help stabilize the roof. Key is to store it with the tongue angled upward (when folded down), otherwise it's possible for water to run past a seal and basically ruin the thing. Happened with my parents' Rockwood (lower quality version of the A-Liner.

We came from a "normal" pop-up and compared to that I think its going to be pretty close to leak free. Maybe a really strong storm could push water into the seams especially as it gets older and seals get dry but not a huge worry at this point. At 2000 lbs it tows great (even behind my 80) and sets up in a couple minutes (in a storm I bet I could do less than a minute ;) ). The big plus is going to Natl Parks that prohibit soft-sides in certain areas, the list of pros/cons would differ for everybody and the price point is a bit high but I'm happy with the decision (YMMV).

Agreed, mine has the gust locks which I think are a must have. It make it easy to pop up and super rigid.

Nice! Where are you (if that's not being too nosy :D) and what kind of tent? It looks like ours.
Southern Utah a couple of weeks ago, not far from Hanksville. A little too hot this time of year, but we just stopped over on the first night of a road trip to CA. Tent is a Springbar Vagabond, it’s awesome.

Things got a bit cooler and greener as we headed west. From the coast of northern CA:

Awesome! Utah is on our list to visit. I thought it might be a Springbar. We have the Traveller. It held up in 50mph winds and heavy rain when we were on the outer banks of NC at Oregon Inlet campground which is just south of Nags Head. Springbars are incredible.

After 2 weeks touring WY we finally found our breaking point with mosquitos. While airing up yesterday after driving through Medicine Bow National Forest for several hours looking for camping I was set upon by a swarm of what can either be described as biblical or apocalyptic, depending on where your faith lies both could qualify. My wife had already called the audible for a hotel after stopping at several mosquito infested sites. After 17 days of camping I was initially reluctant to concede, then while airing up and discovering the taste of mosquitoes and the sensation of blowing them out of my nostrils I was happy to oblige. We woke up this morning and headed south into Colorado. After enjoying the drive on roach road, Hohnholz lake, and deadman we found this spot. Sure, there are mosquitos but it’s a normal amount.

I did a 28 night backpacking trip in the Winds back in 2012. Morning constitutionals were miserable.

Any stationary activity is miserable. I can now walk while peeing, a trick my boys quickly picked up which turned into a potentially messy race.

We stayed in a hotel last night which was the first mirror we’d seen in 20 days, we were all shocked at the amounts of bites we all had. The obvious weight loss made up for the bug bit shock.

I had hopes for this thread helping me convince my wife to camp but I'm now going to have to ban her completely from reading any of this...

I warned you, huh?
I go to Wyoming almost every summer and I have never seen the mosquitos there as bad as they are this year.

Did the Thermacells do anything to help against them?

Yeah you did and even then it was worse than we expected. Either you had mosquitoes or steady 15mph wind and no mosquitoes, either way it was tough.

Idk about the thermacells…it’s hard to say if they did anything or not. They were so relentless that even if the attack was cut in half you would still be tortured. There are probably 20 dead ones on the dash of the cruiser that I can see and who knows how many strewn about unseen and in the camper.

We went to WY looking for adventure and found it. If it’s not bugs it’s wind, rain, hale, mud, lightning, snow, downed trees from wind or snow… we had all that and more. Killer trip,

Very nice. I have a 2375 and an F150 I tow it with. Was hoping for some real world experience towing one with a 200. Yours has more tongue weight but overall mine is heavier.
How does the 200 tow it?
Oh man have I got a thread for you. But real world, towing with the LX is great. Auto level is nice. Only downside is mirrors, mine are old and fold back too easily if I use the strap on mirrors. Also, 8 MPG is about normal. Locking in 4th works. I re-geared to 4.88 and that noticeably helps with both the mileage and gear selection, but I wouldn't regear just for towing.

Yeah, I’ve read all thru that one. I currently have an 03 LC and plan on upgrading to a 200 in the next year or so once I pay off my F150. Just wanted some real world experience with someone towing a trailer like mine. Lance’s are tongue heavy, so just curious about that.

I use this hitch and I get very little bouncing/bobbing and almost unnoticeable sway.

I’ve been studying the Anderson’s pretty hard and know a couple of people that have them. They’re about twice the price of that one
