LOL! My BJ73 is parked next to my brother's 2018 991... while it is not a GT3 variant, it is Miami Blue!

Keep the pics coming!
Really? That's pretty cool. That Miami Blue is NOT a subtle color.....kind of like this beast:

Not sure if we will do an intercooler or not on this one. Probably would be something I would consider.
:) A/W Intercooler on a 1HDT.

With a lull in the action between waiting for floors to cure next door, the arrival of a shipping container that would become my Land Cruiser parts storage center.....I figured it was time to swap out the axles the truck came with for the locking ones we scored at the junkyard.

Added a sweet little 60 to the collection.....I mean "inventory". Nice clean local to me truck. Never have had a 60....

The 60, 70, 80........must work on the next one.

With most all of the trucks out of the new building( a couple of the non-runners were put on the other side of the building), figured it was time for a cool drone pic. Kind of how I remember playing with my Matchbox cars as a kid. Only big ones now. Expensive ones too.

Back to #2....finished the headlight on the right side. Good as new.

I bought a shipping container for all the junk, I mean Land Cruiser parts, I've been accumulating.....was able to score a one-trip high cube 40 footer for a really great price. If you need a container.....try www.boxhub.co What a great experience. This container was used once....it's nearly mint. People/customers can't believe how nice it is. I was considering a used one but after doing my research, a 15 year old container that has been all over the world in some horrible conditions didn't make sense. I needed it to be sealed and to look nice. I get myself caught up in too many Cruiser projects...the last thing I needed was a 40' container project.

The guy who unloaded this thing was probably the most skilled driver I have ever seen. Incredible where he put this and it was within an inch or 2 of where I wanted it.

My guesstimate is that it could hold about 1100 medium sized pit bull mixes. Or lots of dirty old Land Cruiser parts.

Hired a new tech who has some wood working skills....his first job was shelving.

Also....purchased a pillow for couch in waiting area. We used this area for parts storage....this pillow is a tribute to the days of no longer storing parts where customers sit.

The blue Porsche and 70 Series are where the parallels end. Structure is an 1850's barn. Here's a pic... now I'll digress. Let's get back to your 79.

Whoa....that barn. Cool shot. Porsches work well in those crazy colors!

When I opted for the airbag dash....I knew there would be a few obstacles when putting it into the non-airbag cab....I studied the 2 pics over and over. Much like when we built #1, not having a reference(seeing a truck in person) creates some challenges. From the pics I had, the primary concern was the steering column pass thru on the firewall and then the support for the column. The other stuff looked close....I was really relieved to see that the AC all looked pretty much the same. Nothing earth shattering or hard to overcome but for sure there would be some work needed. My goal all along for using the airbag dash was that I had all the parts, I was hoping to minimize the hours upon hours of parts searching and figuring things out like what I went thru on #1.

The main differences between the 2 that I could see from the pics I had.

For the benefit of folks like me that are a product of a rural education, despite the challenges you still plan to install the newer dash?

The RAV4 style dash will be in this truck for sure(technically it is in it now but we haven't caught up just yet....soon....trying to get a lot of posts in today).

The challenges aren't really that big of a deal....dimensionally the truck is the same so we can make it all fit. Trying to get it to look legit is the challenge that keeps me awake. Which is pretty sad actually.

The big circle is airbag related....the sensor goes here. We won't be using the airbags on this truck so no brackets needed on my floor.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKK Me...

We had to do some minor cleaning up of the cab once we cleared out all the stuff that was in it.....both #1 and #2 had the same reddish clay dust.....no idea where that came from. For having no miles on them, these trucks have been around!

With 2 trucks worth of parts, we started to go thru inventorying the different stuff.....most of the old stuff wasn't going to be used so it was packed away in that beauty of a container. The stuff that was going to be used was laid out so we could clean things up a bit. The 76 series was a very well used truck...lots of stuff everywhere. Hopefully it wasn't used as an ambulance transporting Ebola patients.

I'm not sure if someone was planning on using these visors or if they just liked the message on the passenger side but in the trash they went. Why someone would bother even installing any of it is beyond me. They were horrible.

Not a very nice thing to write on a visor......
