Nice one G. I knew you'd go the way of new parts. It's a drug. Did the inspection go well? When do we move in? Can I decorate my room? How big is your garage?

Inspection went well, old house things, all minor. Garage is gonna be a tear down, but once I slam my 80 and put 30” rims on it it’s gonna fit inside the door….

We’re closing in a couple weeks, and moving in the summer. Many logistics to cover between those two dates.

Yeah yeah yeah. What about my room?

Also, please show me these garages you're working with. I figured MN would have YUGE garages.

I couldn’t help it. Fresh spindles from cruiser outfitters on the way. I figured it would be nice to have it all wear at the same rate.

Currently sitting in the MSP airport watching it barf snow everywhere.
Barf snow? I’ve always enjoyed watching snow. It’s a relaxing sight to me even when it’s blowing sideways.

Absolutely. Agree 100%. Except in this specific circumstance:

I just want to get home. I’m surrounded by anxious travelers and despite my excellent noise canceling headphones and the bubble of sanctuary they provide, I still have to be penned up with humanity worrying about flight status. Lots of heavy drinking at the bar behind me…I’m impressed with the 6am crew, just hoping they are on the flight to Ft. Lauderdale!

This garage is the weakest part of the place. But Mrs. PNW assured me that garage remodel/ tear down is phase 2.

It’s all good. Family in the area has connections to a racetrack, so I’ll bet there’s a cruiser enthusiast to be who might rent me some shop space….it will be the first litmus test of MN nice.

…all I want for Christmas is 9’ tall garage doors and a deep two car garage with a storage loft and plumbed for air with eleventy million led shop lights and a nice tool box…

And maybe a 3/8 Milwaukee m12 impact wrench….

Just incase my wife reads this…

G, I have a huge detached garage. It is a deep 4-bay, high-ceiling space. When I moved here, it was so full of s*** that it took me 22 trips to the dump to make room to walk comfortably inside of it without tripping/dying. Now I can park three vehicles inside, and there is a dedicated bay for woodworking. The garage is split by a large shelving unit that spans the aft portion where most of my spare parts are stored. But here's the kicker. I still seek more space, lighting, and maneuvering room. Although there is plenty of space, it doesn't lend itself to being a great mechanic's garage due to the choppy layout. I'm probably being a diva at this point, but that's me.

All that to say, Mrs. G, make sure you give Mr. G a badass garage the first go-round. Think of your workflow inside the garage, from the cruiser to the workbench, to storage, and back to the cruiser. Oh, and definitely lights. Gagillion more lights.

Word. Garage currently has a 40watt bulb. Main power is also a plug in the bulb base. This is currently occupied by the garage door motor. it’s hilarious. Single t5 fixture is unplugged and the garage door only functions if the light is switched on. All other outlets are inoperable….both of them.

Not gonna sweat it. But suddenly my finished garage from 1984 that has Sheetrock and insulation is looking pretty BA. It’s full of my s*** and a LC but at least it’s my mess.

Airports are fun…….

Some fascinating scoring on my old spindles I hadn’t noticed. Top is the spindle that is likely original. Scoring is closest to the flange.
