Cutty say he can’t HANG!!
Just catching up the thread a bit. Some fixes and upgrades come with picts, some dont. Im bad at taking picts in the moment.
Last august we decided to meet the folks in Kernville, then head to Monache Meadows.
That meant that I had to get the 60 ready tow our lil trailer and get the awning attached.
Found a used hitch off a forum member. rRemoved the rust and painted it.
The trailer towed great behind the cruiser. Wife and kido had a great time.
Did notice the tacoma 16" rubbed in the rear so some 1.25" spacers went on all around.
Did a couple trips up the mountains here in L.A. to the snow this winter.
And got a bitchin key chain from Cruiser Convoy.
Pulled a friend out of some nasty mud. Pretty proud of the ol' truck.
@RodrigzCrzr Came over and lended some much appreciated knowledge to concur the knuckle seals.
Replaced the brake master, calipers, rotors and pads as well.
A week or so after that I switched out the rear cylinders ad shoes. Stopping much better these days.
That pretty much brigs it up to date. Oh! I put in the DNP carpet. No picts of that but you know what it looks like.
I regret selling a couple cars in my life but no other ride has had me smiling just walking up to it.
Somehow just found this thread. Truck looks great. Really good looking setup. Going to have to think about the Tough Dog suspension as an option for mine now.
She is looking good Jason!

I recommend the TD suspension, it rides great! Look into the Dobinson as well.

The TD looks a bit more level after settling than others I have seen. My goto was the OME but seems like you cannot get away from the stink bug look without a lot of fiddling with the spring packs. Seems like the TD settles in nicely level all on its own. Also love the FJ Steelies. Great setup. You should be proud of that one.

Yeah sits really level front to back and side to side.

Do some research regarding OME lift kits, TD and stock comparison leaf pack sizes in regards the use or disuse of spring hat and isolators.
Just sound deadened the 4 doors. Now I'm thinking real hard on selling this rig.
Its unfortunate but its the most logical move at the moment.
Anyways I'm planning on installing some parts I have in the closet. An OEM radio, inclinometer, new front and rear door cards(from OZ) with as close to factory vinyl while reusing the original fabric. Was also going to instal some speakers in the rear cargo panels when I do the radio.
Finished sound deadening the doors. Also, used some silicone grease to lube the tracks. Got some new handles, one of the original ones was broke. They were originally meant for a truck but work fine with a little trimming and a few holes opened up. Originally they came black but I painted them to match the grill, which is also very close to the OEM color of the euro spec rear view mirrors. OEM radio installed with speakers.
Weird, swore I quoted you on the ‘selling this rig’ comment but I see it’s not there. Why are you thinking of selling?
@NeverGiveUpYota long story but the short of it is the wife is on disability and most likely changing careers.
I’m figuring I could pay off her car and my 4runner then have some change left over. Dropping our insurance rates down and not paying those two car payments a month will be a big load off.
Still not 100% on selling but it is motivation to button things up in the meantime.
Put my door cards in, stapled the carpet to the plastic channels(doubled up), installed the inclinometer and installed the front seats.
front seats got new vinyl as the door cards, fixed the driver side fabric with some rear seat fabric and go new foam. Drove three hours to the desert and didn’t notice my butt falling asleep like before. So nice. We tapped the inclinometer clock power into the cig lighter harness but blew a fuse the next day. The radio also stopped working so I’m think the person that installed the radio also tapped into the cig lighter as there is no radio fuse in the stock location. The female part is gone altogether.
Side note, also picked up the lil cousin of my 60.
1985 4runner. 125k original miles! :0
