Doing a leg would be cool but much of the beauty of Baja is found on the beaches and bays of both coasts

For sure. One route I have is hugging the east coast down and then hugging the west coast back up. Go as far as we can until we have to turn back to make time. I love the ocean/beach so I'm all about that plan.

Penciled in the timeframe at work. Pretty stoked. Not sure if this would be overdoing it, but when it gets closer should we each chip in with a spare part or something to bring? CV kit, tie rods, etc.

Good idea!

If this happens, I'll have a few spares from my maintenance overhaul I plan on doing soon. In all reality, it's probably significantly safer than driving across the US by yourself than driving across Baja with 6 to 10 fellow 200 cruisers. Worst case your rig takes a complete dump and throws a rod. We'll tow-strap you back to somewhere and if we have to, rent a trailer and tow your rig the rest of the way. I haul a rig across Baja behind my 200 if it means someone not ruining their vacation. Also, in no instance will we leave a rig behind without at least two people staying back.

So is March 17th (showtime in San Diego) to April 1st work for everyone else? @Markuson ? Maybe @kreiten can do a +/- a day or two? Ken is the only guy with dates so far so I'm going off of that for now.

My window is still the same (see page 2)... March 24 - April 8th.
I can’t start earlier than the 24th...so if it’s March 17...no can do.
But I’m just one guy.

I hear ya man. I'd just hate to leave someone out that wants to go, it's going to be a ton fun. Maybe Ken can shift a week later? Hate to put the burden on you two though. Worst case we can head down to a few camp spots then split up.

What's everyone else's schedule looking like?

I appreciate the thought. Group timing is tricky and I will absolutely understand if if it can’t work out with my schedule.

I’m flexible with dates but am subject to last minute work stuff putting a wrench in things... the caveat to an “unlimited” vacation policy. Though that hasn’t disrupted any trips in the past. Maybe a simple google spreadsheet with availability would be helpful?

I can't formally commit as I have a bunch of things planned February through May, but I'd definitely like to join the group if possible. I won't really know what dates I will be free until the end of December, but I will join if I can and there's room!

LX or Tacoma? Either is cool, but I really want to check out the Taco :)

That's Em's spring break, so we can't flex too much unfortunately, I totally understand if the time frame works out different for most people. FYI the 17th is when I would be leaving Washington, so say enter Mexico on Monday March 19th if that would work. If ya guys build a spreadsheet and a different timeline develops I totally understand man, no biggie. But if it all works out, damn Baja sounds like a blast!

Got it.

Fully editable. Fill in what you can, edit what you think would be helpful. Lead post edited also.

I just really don't want to be the person that tells someone they can't go.

Man, it's the great attitudes I see reflected in these posts that makes all yall in this forum great to wheel with.

Similar issue as Ken's for me... -Work is tied to the local spring break schedule. I like your spreadsheet idea, Ken...and like we've both said, totally understand if no worky. Would be an amazing trip by all accounts. Here's hopin...!

Either way, we'll work something out. Absolute worst case we can all head over the boarder and do some camping together. If that's a couple of days or a couple of weeks, it's all gravy. I hope we can make it work. As long as someone isn't driving to or from somewhere by themselves, I'm happy.

I'll start looking into some volunteer work too. I don't know what's available in Baja but those of us with heavily flexible schedules that are willing to do some community work along the way. No matter where I go, I try to do some good while I'm there be it little or big. Trail or community.

Hey Mark for what it's worth if you want to do a delayed start I would hang back and head down with you and hopefully we could prearrange a meet up point with the group in Gonzaga or Bay of LA? First guys there will of course have the cold ones waiting

That's a very nice offer! :) Lets see how the dates unfold.

Hey guys, I just found this thread. I am very interested in going with you guys. I'm very flexible on dates, but 2 weeks is my max length and I would need the weekend at the beginning and end to get back and forth from Dallas.
