Yeah, I think I read somewhere on here that you live close to Poe's Tavern? Man, I love that place!!!

Sullivan's island is awesome, you're lucky to call it home. I've been going down there since I was a kid.

Was most recently there for the 4th of July and got to check out your nutty parade that clogs the streets.

Yeah. Its rough sometimes living 200' from the bar. :flipoff2:

I say we have it at mine or Capt Jim's place in South Florida! Otherwise Savannah is kinda in the middle of us all. It's a long shot but....

I could do Savannah

Hey David!

It was great meeting you also at the annual meeting. Sounds like Hunting Island State Park may be a real possibility. Do you know if alcohol is allowed? (We aren't Cruiserheads with a drinking problem, its just that some of us are modest drinkers with a cruiser problem) I have four cruiser problems....

I was an asst ranger at a SC state park for a wee short stint and at that point the parks did not allow alcohol. I believe it was a state wide policy. I don't know about other parks but we would not look in cups. If I saw a beer I had to ask the person to poor it out but then I walked away. I never asked what was in a red solo cup, didn't look for beer and didn't care if anyone was drinking as long as you didn't wave a beer in my face or do something dumb (this happend a lot). Now I didn't care if anyone drank but since I didn't want to get fired from my almost minimum wage job which forced me to wear polyester and a 'smokey the bear hat' in 100 degree heat and work awful hours without being payed for overtime (almost a lawsuit) I had to be the 'beer police.' Fun times.

State Parks are "don't ask, don't tell" I have never had a problem and never been harassed...unlike the National Forest where they jump out of trucks and shake down your coozies. (URE)

Sounds like a fun trip. I luv me some seafood. I am game for where ever this event takes place. Great idea Troll!

And as Safety Officer...I feel behooved to recommend some options to anyone on the boat.

Stylish... and functional! Don't forget the drawstring!

Maybe some Swim Nappy's with the UC Logo for the older crowd?

November SEAFOOD FOLLY

So is this a go or what? I am all sorts of excited about it!

Even if it is a small coastal group ready for the trip, I have all the BIG pots and cookers ready for a "boil".

Anyone else?

It's official. I'll be in Charleston on Nov.1. If you guys want to come down during the week, I would be glad to party with you. If it is on a weekend, I will be with the Misses and the kid back in Myrtle Beach until they move down in June.

Yes it is a go but this is for next year. It takes time for us to plan an event like this and get everything right. I think it would be cool if we could get the Charleston crowd together Thursday night and Fish , crab and shimp on Friday have a boil friday night and then take a majority of the winnings back to G'ville for a big boil Sat night.

4 months down.

Looks like we have a lot of new members from the low country join in the UC ranks. Maybe this should be an all down in charleston thing and make the weekend out of it.

So we need a location that will hold 20 or so. Close to water and a bathroom. A place that can handle a buch a beer drinkers an big pots of crab and shrimp.

Anyone have any suggestions. Low Country Cruiser Boil 08. Early Oct or before or after annual.

Marshall, I am a Scoutmaster down here in Mt. Pleasant, and we go camping once a month all year long. I could hook you up with several possibilities in the area. We can talk about it this weekend.

This is right up me and my crews alley- A place with Cabins would be perfect. Hunting looks great.

I will look around and see if I still have the info for GoldBug island. There is a group there that has the little blue place right before you cross the drawbridge to Sullivan's Island. We had our wedding reception there and it was awesome. It would mean that we'd have to stay somewhere else though... They have running water, covered areas, and indoor hall

Yeah, that's it! We had a blast there. Real friendly people who own it too... Do you have connections?
