I like to work on my truck and do what I can with all the info on this site, but some jobs I know I could not do. I have a 94 with a bad rear main leak. Any one out there know of a reputable shop or mechanic with knowledge of these trucks in central Colorado (im in Eagle)? I know about SLee in Golden but I was hoping to find someone closer. If not is SLee the go to shop for these trucks or do you guys have any other shops or mechanics that you would suggest? Thank you and any help would be greatly appreciated

Slee is the closest one I can think of. I know at least one guy who lives in Vail that goes to Slee anytime something major needs to be done.

You also have Proffitts in Austin CO. Little east of Monstrose. They are more of a resto shop, but they might be able to help you out.

CTS, "Colorado Toyota Specialists" Joe owns the place. His shop is in Aspen Park, which is 5 miles north of Conifer on Hwy 285. Land cruisers are his speciality.

If hitting "like" repeatedly meant anything, I would to this.

Smart money is Robbie work - him doing a HG on the 40th I had was a HUGE selling point when I bought it. Easily has forgot more about 1FZ's than I probably know.

Drive the extra, or get AAA & flatbed it there when you need work - you won't end up ever posting some random horror story.

i really appreciate the replys. Going to make some calls and see who can get me in.

No personal experience but from what I've heard, Safari Ltd in Grand Junction has a good reputation

Safari is no more only metric in junction

When did that happen? Is it the same operation with different ownership?

Nope closed probably less then year ago maybe 7 months

Mike at metric is your man or if you are here in junction I can help ya I use to work cruisers over in boulder

You sure it's not a rear pan arch seal leaking? It's a bit of a pain, but definitely a DIY job if you have the inclination.

Oil pan arch seal

I am going to look into the arch seal and I really appreciate the link. I like to do as much work as I can myself to learn about the 80. Im going to take a closer look.

Appreciate the offer for the help and I would take you up on it but I live up in Eagle.

I just have to say one thing since I joined this site, I cannot believe how helpful everyone is. I just hope I can return the love some how. Thank you again.
