I thought that video was great (I'm going to assume that the translation was accurate). I feel like a lot of the guys on the forums crapping all over the new LC for not being a "real" Land Cruiser should watch this. For me, the new LC (particularly the 1958 trim) ticks all the boxes. Smaller, basic, boxier, (much better looker IMO than the 200 series) and getting back to the idea of Land Cruiser as utility vehicle rather than luxo barge. I'd still want it if they put a "Prado" badge on it (I have a '13 GX so I don't have size anxiety).

It sounds like there's some confirmation that the vehicle is what many of us thought it was - an LC300 rolling chassis with a different body that is slimmer in the mid section, smaller in side by some amount, and a bit more boxy. For me that's kinda exactly what every 4Runner owner has been wanting for the last 20 years. And a lot of what the earlier LC owners have been wanting. It won't please everyone, but it sure sounds like it is as much a "Land Cruiser" as the LC300 is. It's the option packages that we're sadly going to miss out on.

In a perfect world - I'd take a non-hybrid turbo 4cyl or TTV6 (need to drive them to choose) with the front and rear lockers from the global market LC300 and eKDSS. Make it a non hybrid Turbo 4 with those features for $50k and it would be a pretty fantastic value utility vehicle. I think the Tacoma will offer something pretty comparable in the same price range. So, I don't think that's an unreasonable price/vehicle to spec for Toyota. I hope we see that combo in the next 4Runner if they won't put it in the LC250.

These are fantastic!! This should be the new 4Runner. If that top came off like a gen1 - buyers would be lined up around the block. I would be on the phone with my buddy that owns a dealership to get in line for the first one. I like the LC250, but not enough to pay MSRP+ to get an early one. If this were the 4Runner or LC250 with a top that came off - I'd do it.

I agree, never bought a new vehicle but I would buy a $55k 250 with a removable top tomorrow.

Finally a good look at the new tread/tire that Lexus was working with Toyo. They look really interesting..mix of open and closed tread design. I bet they ride fairly well and quiet.

Looks a lot like this tire to me. Although the ones on that vehicle look like they're almost worn out. Not much tread left above the wear bars.

O.K. We've learned that the running boards are not trail-rated and it has some flexibility.

Sat in a 550 Luxury+ today. Felt pretty good, and the layouts of the interior are definitely better than my '22 460. The massage seats are nice - and actually helped sell the new 550 a little to my girlfriend. Sucks that that's not an option on the base Overtrail trim.

I went to the LA auto show and again saw a display GX, the white one is pretty much the final production. Here are photos of the engine bay and notice the finished plastics as opposed to my photos a few pages back

Last 2 photos are from the overtrail concept which still looks to be pre production.

None. They will be in firesale mode to get rid of the Gx460s first. Here is the dec to remember preview.

They have a bunch of 460’s on the lot at my local dealer. They still aren’t dealing on them even as demand has noticeably slowed. I’d be tempted to pick one up right before years end IF they come off MSRP by 10% or so.
