@JakeBP was nice to drop by and say hi yesterday to show off his rad 250 series. His first Toyota and his first Land Cruiser.

Beautiful truck. Congrats! Great to meet you and your wife.

My 1998 and 2005 suffered bad from rust once we moved to Massachusetts in 2010. I didn't realize how bad it got and then started the protection from treatments at Home - https://nhoilundercoating.com/ about 6 years ago. When I purchased 2024 FE a few weeks ago I decided to invest in the permanent

NHOU® BOSS WAX™

service. I hesitated with the permanent product but the salt and brine used here in MA is just so devastating I have to go all. Here are the before and after pictures. If would absolutely recommend the standard yearly oil spray service if you are in the mid-Atlantic or New England. I do this with my 4Runners acquired used at 15k miles too late for the BOSS WAX.

Pros:
The whole enchilada.

Cons:
1. Stupid VSC etc system unavailable message that won’t stay away in 4Lo. Maybe there’s a setting but haven’t found it yet. Bloody hell, I want to see my tire pressure or my trans temp instead of that message. Pain to clear every 10 seconds.

2. Downshifting doesn’t do much to hold her back. Be it 4Lo or on the highway. 1st in low range doesn’t slow it down much on a moderate slope.

3. Ground clearance. I know I can fix this and will, but come on Toyota. 9” stock would’ve been nice.

Found it!
Thanks to Jay F. on a FB group. There’s a way to turn off the annoying “VSC Turned OFF
Pre-Collision Brake System Unavailable” warning message in 4Lo. It goes away when the PCS (Pre collision system) is turned to off. I immediately went out to test it and it works. This is found in the instrument cluster vehicle settings.

Has anyone put 2024 Tundra TRD Pro wheels on? Can you post a picture?

Previously towed with my GX460 and it never performed well - I had to manually shift to keep it on a low enough gear, struggled on climbs, and the transmission heated up even with an auxiliary cooler. The LC pulled the camper REALLY well, even on long climbs at altitude. The transmission worked well and shifted like butter without me manually shifting - I just put it in drive and in tow mode and it worked perfect. Also, all gauges - oil, no water, and trans - all stayed right in the center and never moved.
Extremely pleased with its towing performance!
Camper weighes in at 3300 dry - and probably closer to 4k when I was pulling it.
I'm towing with a GX470 and very happy with it, but looking at swapping to the 250 soon. I'm at about 2,600 fully loaded on our teardrop with a 300lb tongue weight. How's the rear sag on the LC when towing? And not really a factor, but curious what the MPG comes out to with a trailer behind you.
