I recently joined the club and this was my first time to the event. I'm glad I made it, my daughter and I had a great time. Thanks to LSLC, the entire Baker family and all those I met and wheeled with this weekend. My newly aquired MetalTech sliders are now broken in. :bounce:

Here are few shots my DD took.

We did make it back to Missouri without any problems.

We rolled in on Sunday around noon.

We sure injoyed wheelin with you all.

Good deal man.

Yea we loved it with you northern folk, we are gonna have to get up there and wheel with yall!

You are welcome, davegonz and Spallet. I'm sure you'll see us around somewhere. Also, thanks texastoy88 for taking a few shots of our FJ Cruiser.

I'm home, I'm way tired, I'm fighting some kind of damn bug, and I'm taking way too long to write a nice trip report! And of course you know I'd do it all again. Rather than wait for the full, finished report, I'd just like to say this for now:

KOWBOY, you put on the DAMN FINEST children's raffle I will likely ever see in my life! Way above and beyond the call of duty. I've seen a LOT of groups over the 25 years I've been in this sport pay lip service to a children's raffle, and watched a bunch of grownups grumble over giving the kids even 5 minutes. You did LSLC and all of us proud by firing those kids up, jazzing up those prizes in the way you have become famous for, and REALLY giving those kids center stage and making them feel like winners! I truly believe this was one of your finest moments.

Oh yes fine, fine raffling of the confederate battle flag to the children......good god that was an all time classic moment.....

We wheeled an $80k plus cruiser w/o incident. Consumed NO alcohol. Did not sleep. Was thoroughly convinced Kowboy needs an AA meeting or four.

We wheeled a junk cruiser and had multiple incidents ... includin' the rollover tree ... consumed 'bout a hun'erd beers or so ... slept like a baby every night ... and never ONCE considered stoppin' the madness long enuff to attend an AA meetin'.

Thank you sir.

Outstanding event with great folks, biggest thanks to Nick for making this happen for me.

I was so glad to of had so much time to just hang out and also get two full days of riding shot gun, Charles fine full bodied cruiser and Jims sleek lined buggy were a blast to ride with.

Thanks for the great chow White Trash on Sunday, first time for Texas barbie and chicken and dumplings.....

Butch gave ya all that cold, Sunday when knocking down the tents he was certainly hurting, I kept my distance and came home without a cold. Plus I was not a huggin and a kissing.,

Back on the big Island in Canadar, weather sucks and its cold.

Good times, thanks

Rob

There are certainly times when I wished like hell I had not stopped to help Kowboy on the trail at GSMTR '01....ain't been able to shake him since.....he's kinda like the cur dog ya' can't run off and sooner or later ya' give up and feed the sumbitch.....however he is in his element with the kids and seems to turn into one himself, I'm damn proud to consider him one of my brothers.
In all fairness to Toyota Trail Riders, he did the kids raffle for their event in January, same great job, we stole the idea from them

crap, i hugged him a bunch of times...does that mean i gotta prepare my deathbed;) thought i might've been getting something, but it must've just been alcohol withdrawal.

To whom it may concern;

I have never had a more boring time somewhere in the middle of fricken Texas.

After flying to D/FW, deserting my wife who had to fly home without me, I rented a car and spent the first night in Ft Worth knowing that I still had to drive four long hours across a prairie to find some small rock pile near Brady.
Sitting around camp with nothing to do since my 4x4 was at home in Fresno, CA so it would not be seen with those "red necks from Texas", the hours just drug on and on.
I wanted to leave Thursday morning to drive 22 hours home, but George wasen't even there yet so I was stuck meeting people that had never even heard of me, and ended up starving all weekend long.

There was nothing going on and it got cold at night.

I was forced to stay up long past my bedtime and entertain people while drinking warm diet cokes from Wal Mart!

NOT!!!!!

I CAN ONLY HOPE AND PRAY THAT I DID NOT ATTEND THE "LAST LONE STAR ROUNDUP".

The hospitality that I experienced, and the friendships that I made will never be forgotten.

I truly enjoyed every opportunity that was given to me.
How do I, writing from my shop in Fresno begin to thank so many people?

From being picked up at D/FW, by Nick with Rob from Canada, driving "Sparrow" to the event, Butch, Cowboy, Clutchee and crew, Gary and Dennis for the rides, Christie B., Kristie for the raffel tickets, John D. Hale, Randy, Woody, Rodger, driving Daryl's 40.... I have left out soo many great people.

I will be back next year, and a special thanks to all the people that I got to help. Your bills were sent out yesterday. Remember, like I told you, cash or money orders only, and no damn stamps.

Above all, thank you for the respect that was shown to me, and providing such an awesome event that brings together soo many great people.

When does the sign up list begin for next year?

Marlin

you forgot all the unpaid hours of wrenching on everyone else's junk:lol:

Hey! I resemble that remark...
I still have a Confederate flag beach towel I got when I was nine (a VERY long time ago).

Special thanks to Debbie Baker for driving to WalMart and buying extra kids toys so they all got two.
The flag blanket was my idea, tell your wife to yell at me. I got thick skin.
;)
