Since Christo considers me a vendor the professional way to approach his situation would have been to privately contact me to discuss his concerns. That's just professional courtesy.

Doing as he did in a public forum gets what we have here. People start reading between the lines and coming to conclusions right or wrong and tensions rise.

You have some who have met and worked with Christo and take his "side" and others for similar reasons take mine.

It doesn't do the forum or any of us any good and for quite awhile I've done my best to avoid threads of any kind questioning his products.

We have two distinct and different approaches to the same problems and as long as people take sides and need to declare one or the other right or wrong this will only continue to degrade the value of the 80 section.

In that end I'll consider myself a vendor and make every effort from now on to keep my comments appropriate to the subject asked and avoid an negative comments on others offerings.

Now how about we all relax a little and figure out some new ways to make these trucks more fun to own.

Humm... Slee did do exactly what I guessed he did. So there is no "Slee could have done", only Slee DID.

We did what we did since we could not get satisfactory answers from Rick. If he did not want to explain in a thread, he could have PM'ed me.

EDIT - Based on Rick's post above while I was typing this I would gladly now ask questions off-line. I asked questions in the thread since it was relevant to the topic going on and did not think it was out-of-line.

BTW - never said he should not make the extra effort to find out the answer - just that doing it here isn't the right place. Not to mention is wasn't until way into the thread that Slee revealed he had a customer with the mod.

One would have to rehash this whole mess to get to the order in which things happened. We had our reservations before we had to deal with the customer and his questions. I am not sure what the relevance in the timing is about.

I am sorry if I ask the questions that no-one else wants to ask. I made a mistake once and assumed that the FOR kit did not include bumpstops. Sorry for that.

 to both christo and rick for extracting themselves nicely from this pile.

i am afraid i can't find the right smiley for sumo ;)

I for one am glad Slee posted publicly. I'm glad Scott posts his opinions and theories. I don't take any of it personally...my *opinion* is that Scott plays devils advocate and that Rick's MAF mod is a MOD with RISKS like any other and that I ran with FPR plugged and now don't because of the discussions. If my truck grenades I don't expect I can go back to Rick or Scott or Christo and blame them for ANY of it.

You pays your money, you takes your chances, and the sharing of information and the 'arguments' about theory is why I come back to this site. If you take it all off-line or stop the technical discussion because you don't like the presentation then my *opinion* is that you take the value out of the forum.

This thread was WAAAAAY more relevant *to me* with Scott presenting theories and others trying to punch TECHNICAL holes in them, regardless of his motives or whatever than talk about what responsibilities a vendor has vs. a hobbyist. Seems like so much complaining to me, but I also know I'm not selling anything either.

My $.02 that wasn't asked for but you get it anyway :)

150+ people other than Christo deserve the same answers you give him. Read: You are in it both feet now. I sent PM to you and many others on this very topic going back over 2 years. The last one to you just a week ago. All of yours summarily rebuffed or ignored. Me, I have nothing to sell here, but am quite comfortable speaking to EFI and MAF sensor theory, application and operation in extreme detail. PM or public forum, btdt here since you started this mod.

My .01 peso suggestion? Stop with the 'best guess' presentations on MAF mods. MAF operation (and in the 80 ecu) is really basic. No 'best guess' are required to do a MAF modification. Whatever you have done, test it properly and post the results. That's the right thing to do. *Then* possibly modify it to be better. Mistakes are ok, they happen in all development exercises.

The biggest issue I see here is you appear to be using 'Vendor' trust without the responsibility that comes with it. Had you presented your pre-mod MAF 'theory' in any of a dozen other forums, I doubt you would have sold a single LTMAF. Try presenting the case "the 80 MAF is different" or "disconnect the FPR reference line" in theturboforum, motorgeek, DSM, efi101, etc... I claim you'd have been in a tight corner before you cut your first housing.

More .02 arbitraged thru the peso again

I think I let this go on too long. Thats what I get for traveling for work and being on the road.

No additional tech is being brought up and now we are starting to get real personal which is crossing my line
