I'll get pictures.

Pretty much, no exhaust leaks, no holes into the cab, all lights, horn, brakes, seat belts, bumpers, wipers.

Mine failed for an exhaust leak, body rot and the horn.

But WOW thats a nice looking frame!

I really want to find a cruiser in really good shape with a blown engine. Since my current cruiser has a recently rebuilt engine. Also my current cruiser is perfect for an off road beater, since it has a solid frame and body rust. After doing a frame swap, an engine swap cant be that bad.

Nothing that really has to do with my thread. But today I was bored and in a bad mood over all the work that I need to do for it to pass inspection:mad:. So this is what I did, big surprise it made me feel better! I tried to get the old tire under my passenger front tire but I couldnt.

I don't know anything about VT, however is there a place where you can go for inspection that will "um, make it pass?" if you know what I mean! Must you have the state inspectors do it? Perhaps a little money exchange?

Here in NJ, the dumb piece of s*** fawks that work for the state inspection system will fail most anything older than 7 or 8 years , so you kinda have to go to a private garage.

I brought it to a mom and pop shop thinking that they would slide me through. But obviously they didnt. I found a person that I sort of know that said I could just tell another shop that he sent me and that they should pass me no problem. But I still want to fix the exhaust leak at my manifold. Even though its taking a long time to fix and couple really angry moments.

I spent a few more hours today working at replacing the intake/exhaust gasket. This one job has probably been more frustrating then the whole frame swap. It took around 5-6 hours just to get the old gasket out, then comes the fun of trying to put the new gasket with RTV back in. I can honestly say that by the time I got the gasket into position there was more RTV on my hands then on the gasket. So with my luck it will leak even worse then the old one and I will have to do this all over again. I was also planning on replacing the gaskets that go between the intake manifold and the exhaust manifold but the bottom 2 bolts are rusted on so well that I couldnt do that. So I hope that it doesnt leak. I also lost a bolt so I have to some how get to a hardware store tomorrow without having a car, that could be difficult.

The local LC shop quoted me $700.00 to do the above noted job. It might be money well spent for me!

Ouch thats a lot of money! But if you have the money, that might be a good option. There are a lot of better things you could spend $700 on.

Finished the gasket today. Fix one thing and create another problem. Now that my exhaust isnt really loud I can hear that I have some loud valves. I've been bondoing the holes so I think she'll pass inspection hopefully tomorrow, we"ll see.

PASSED!

Wow I didnt even fix all of it. Pretty sure the other place was putting out a lot of BS. But all I care is that its done. Now I have a stumble at 1500rpm, so I guess its the EGR (?) so I think i hooked up some lines wrong when I put the carb back on.

Time for a little update. I got a Lincoln SP175T for christmas so I started doing a little body work today. I took some pictures that I'll put up tomorrow. I cut out and started welding the area over the drivers rear wheel well. It'll probably end up looking only a little better then the glob of bondo that was on there but atleast it wont rust as fast. I found out I dont have much patience for welding thin metal and my welds look like a 2 year old did them because even on the lowest setting I would still burn through. I'll probably cut off the rockers tomorrow in prep for some trail-gear sliders in the near future. I'd be working on my SPG but I'm at a stand still until I get the studs for my exhaust manifold which the dealer wanted $7 a piece and I need 7 of them so I'm at a stuck until I figure out what to do about them.
