I am going to do the same exact thing as soon as I get my springs replaced. I am planning on going with the 255/70 valving, FWIW. I've read it's a firmer valving that will help reduce sway of a heavy wagon.

Yeah 3in give or take a bit.
I wish I had a cool backstory to the springs. But the only thing I can figure is that it was caused by a quick stop from about 10mph. Locked up the tires on wet pavement. 193k on the springs probably didnt help. I'm looking into stronger springs.
I traded my friend my 3ft Firestik for his 4ft. Here's the mount I made, havent decided if I'll keep it like this, I dont like that it swings into the body when it hits branches.
Take a tennis ball and cut a hole on either side and slide it down the antenna till its just below the rear window level. This way when you hit a branch the ball will hit the tuck and cushion is instead of the antenna beating the crap out of you body.
Its about time you got that thing offroad!
Thanks, I was thinking of making some sort of cushion to slide over the antenna.
Tell me about it. Its about time I even drive it on the street.
I think I figured out what caused the leaves to bend. When I slam on the brakes, the nose dives a lot. I'm thinking it compressed to the point that it hit the bump stops and they acted like a pivot point and the axle just wrap around. Not sure how to fix that other than some stiffer springs.
So the trunion bearing preload is in spec. It still has a clunk/looseness feeling over sharp bumps and pulls to the right when backing up...but not when going forward. I'm thinking I should try some caster shims. But I really am at a loss right now.
