I havent opened up the can yet but I'm guessing its pretty thick stuff. I figured I'd have to find a gun design for thicker materials vs normal paint.

The one I got with my Fluid Film this year was the Economy Air Undercoat Gun from Astro Pneumatic Tool Company, model number 4538.

Stuff isn't as thick as you might think.

Alright I'll see what I can find. What did you do for spraying inside the frame? I figured I'd rig up some sort of hose contraption to snake inside the frame.

I didn't. I treated the inside of my frame rails with used motor oil a year ago and have done nothing with them since. I plan on replacing my frame in the short term so it's not my biggest concern.

I have seen spray adapters for the aerosol cans of Fluid Film that spray fluid in 4 different directions. That may be the ticket. It was featured somewhere in this forum recently.

Yeah I saw that sprayer adapter. But I'd rather use as few cans as possible since they cost more per volume than the gallon. I'll probably try to make something that'll work :meh:

I hear you there. Fluid Film creeps around similar to how ATF does so you can probably just spray some back and forth through the windows in the frame and be covered.

So I ended up not driving the 60 in the winter, I just couldnt make myself do it. I brought it out of storage the other day to start working on it. There are only 2 months until I head out west for Moab and I have lots to do. On my 60 I'm going to install a lock right in the rear, build rock sliders and tie in the 1/4 panel protection on my rear bumper to the frame, probably also figure out how to mount a spare tire and my jerry can and in reality my 60 needs a rear anti wrap bar.

In that 2 months I also have to build sliders, rear bumper and SAS my friends mini truck in preparation for Moab.

Its going to be a busy 2 months but I cant wait to get to Moab! :grinpimp:

I glad you kept your 60, and that you kept it away from rust!!! Good luck with the future projects!

I'm jealous:grinpimp: Looking forward to the next round of upgrades!

I've been spending money like its going out of style recently. Moabs going to be expensive, but well worth it.

I'll probably order the locker in the next couple weeks. Fabrication work wont happen until it warms up a bit. The plan is to have my friends SAS done by the end of this month to give us all of April to troubleshoot it if issues arise. Aprils going to be super busy. Hopefully I can make some extra cash doing some fab work in my "free time"

24+ inches of snow overnight. Town roads have yet to be plowed. Aired down MTRs make easy work of the snow.

nice to see it out again! Super roof edition?
exited to see the builds. what locker are you aiming at?

The plan is to put a lunchbox locker in the rear. I was hoping to be able to start working on it soon but all this snow is a bit of a set back.

U.S. Spec Sahara roof?

A couple people told me it looks like I have a roof from a conversion van.

Found these today....

Too bad they're for the SAS I'm doing on my friends mini :frown:

Not much has happened recently. T- 37 days until the ship sets sail for Moab, with a side trip to MT. Crunch time really. Mostly been working on cleaning up an axle housing and 63in chevys for the SAS on my friends mini (pictured below) Should be a stout set up for Moab. SFA with ifs outers, Longs, 63s out back, rear lift springs up front, regeared to 4.88 with lockers f&r and 35in KM2s.

Still need to order my locker and buy some tube. Just have to wait a bit longer, taxes are killing me. I started working on some good tie down locations on my trailer. I bought 4 weld on 15000lbs shackles from Tractor Supply. I'm going to weld them to some scab plates and then weld the scab plates to the trailer frame. Not sure how I'm going to attach the straps to the cruiser yet. Probably some sort of setup wrapped around the axles.

Took a break and did some light wheeling today. Nothing special pictures below:

Looks pretty awesome! I just read this build for the 3rd time and like the way it has been turning out so far. I might have missed it, but what is your ground to frame height on this with the SOA and 35s?

Thanks! Excellent question, no idea. I'll measure it next time I think about it.

Looky what Kurt sent me...

Planning on picking up some FJ62 axles this week. So I'll be putting in the 4.11s and the lockright in the rear. Moab here I come!
