I got a bunch of comments about my plate while wheeling. Everyone loves it.
The only thing about the 63s is I for see it being a pain to get my ride height as low as I want. 35s are big enough for what I do. So I'm not going to lift it any more than it already is, really I wouldnt mind coming down an inch or so. Right now my rear springs are about as flat as they can be. I have my bump stops set about 2in off the spring perch. I'd guess I would have to french the spring and shackle hangers deep into the frame to get my desired ride height. Even if I went to 37s I probably wouldnt lift it at all. I'm all about cruising low and slow. With links this wouldnt be an issue. We'll have to see what my winter starts to look like. I really want some wider axles. Right now I'm running 15x7 3.5in bs with 1.25in spacers. The skinny wheels are great. I air down to 10psi and have no worries about losing a bead. I just really want to get rid of the spacers and add a couple inches of width. I suppose I could drop some coin on some wider bead locks with a more appealing back spacing, that could be another option. My brothers already claimed the linked front, 63 rear with locked 80 axles idea. So I have to come up with something new.
Wait an effing second. That's not a LC bellhousing, bug looks like a downey SBC to Toyota tranny adapter bellhousing. What do you have planned?
Yup thats exactly what it is. Popped up in the classifieds last week and I bought it. The plan is to drop a 6.0 Vortec in. Not really sure when, I'll need to upgrade axles if I run a v8. So I think my first task is strengthening the drivetrain. Then the swap. Could be this summer, winter, next year. Havent really decided, depends when I have the $6k to spend.
My original plan was to get longs up front, locker, FJZ80 rear axle with chromo shafts, regear and make a 2FE this summer. But now if I put the 6.0 in will Longfields take the abuse with a v8, locker and 37s? I spose thats the $800 question.
