Early this week I got a period correct jack and handles from @Pigeaten

Powder Keg has been doing the jacks for me for the last year. One of the guys there loves doing these. He makes them like new which I guess is another of my dichotomies. I love some stuff weathered and old and some things good as new.

I also love where they go in the FJ55 and truly believe all pigs need a set under the seat.

I stuck the extra length crank handle in the spot in the FJ45 behind the seat and had mine done for this project.

Also got some nice parts that will be needed for the 2F swap from Classic Cruisers cleaned and coated as well. @Ratboy also sent a front double cardan shaft to clear the crossmember and a hard hard to find 85-87 transfer case shifter.

Don't talk to Onur about it, he's a believer in the upgrade. It's on my list maybe still this winter. My thought with the 80 box is you really don't how it was abused before you got it. Plenty of money for sure, but I'd hate to snap a shaft somewhere on the trail. Too late for yours since it's been rebuilt, hopefully Redhead inspects the shaft for cracks, etc.

Good reading here...

I spoke to redhead at length about their rebuild process. It’s very legit.

I just had them do a 105 shaft in my 80 box. I can honestly say if all the 80s I’ve seen abused over the years only one has snapped a 80 shaft and they were running 40” BFG stickies.

I did it in my truck because I was sitting on a bunch of crack Patina sales money but I’m not sure it’s worth the $600 premium

Yeah, I'm way past trying to rationalize 55 purchases. I'd be the guy snapping a shaft in the middle of a Pig Party.

Where did you get the upgraded parts from?

www.partsouq.com

you need the arm and the shaft. Nut is the same.

Are you running a late 60 box? Pattern is the same. My 84 is different. 60 only pattern

Here are the part numbers. Don’t need the seal kit if you sending it off

No, I have the 80 box, just need the shaft and rebuild kit. My problem is I need a drop arm to clear the 55 frame and the 105 pitman arm is semi straight. Ruff Stuff sells a 2 1/2" drop arm for an 80, so I either bend the 105 arm or respline the 80 drop arm to fit the 105 shaft. It's never easy. :)
