Hello Fellow KZJ78’s
Is there any who’s found a good hitch mount for the KZJ78? I am trying to attach Kuat hitch mount bike rack and looking for options.

Thanks!

Something like this but you have to find the right bolt pattern that matches your trucks. I personally wouldn’t tow with this but should work fine for a bike rack

lol. Does it really come with 4 lag bolts and 4 expansion anchors?

Hi Bruce,

I got this one, I could only find it on amazon though. Best part is it doesn't require any cutting or drops lower. I use it for my single bike carrier, I can still open the left side door when it's on - The 30 year old bolts were a nightmare to get off!

I'm using the exact same one as well, works great. Note you will want 4x bolts from Toyota to mount it easily (which was used here as well) see part number below:

Hi @Tanner H , @Jern , @mattressking

I'm interested in the same tow hitch option (without cutting into the step). Anyone here able to offer some real/long term feedback? I'm intending to mount a Yakima Full swing bike carrier although not sure if the depth of the tow hitch is long enough to support it?

Man yeah I wouldnt be able to comment on that since I'm only carrying around one hardtail that is maybe 20-22 pounds. I was also wondering about the weight capacity these little things can take.

Personally I’m not a fan of racks that use the top tube as a mount surface. I prefer a wheel tray style rack as they are more stable, offer better bike mounting and offer some protection below in case you off road a bit with a bike.
