Known problem with original calipers for a 1983 FJ60 ?

Its worth your time time go braided stainless on all the flex lines now. There's only 4. Bleeding these systems is sometimes problematic (especially trapped air in the master) and you don't want to have to do it twice. Braking is second only to steering in importance.
When this whole front axle job is done I will of course bleed the whole system (all 4 wheels). Ive done it 5-6 times on various Hondas; what differences or nuances should I look out for on the fj60 I have ?
 
I should ask, if I am going to bleed the whole system anyhow, if I also replace the master cylinder at the same time (front axle w calipers removed and rebuilt, and Master cylinder replaced), do I still have to bleed the MC off the system first or will simply bleeding the whole system (may take 2-3 bleeding cycles total) do it all?
 
Absolutely bench bleed the master before bleeding the rest of the system. Air tends to get trapped in the master. Follow the FSM and see how it turns out. You might get lucky. If you end up with a squishy pedal, don't be discouraged or think a component is bad. It's probably just a bubble in the master.
 
My 85 had calipers and brake maintenance like yours (more or less) and I'm still running the original hard lines. Soft lines got SS braided.

Hard lines are NLA, I believe, from Toyota.

x2 - Definitely bench bleed the MC to save time and brake fluid.
