Annnnd finally!!! Note, this is the test set to confirm everything is set up correctly. I've never known the intricacies and pitfalls in CNC before, definitely learned a lot. Production will start Monday, shipments as fast as I can pick up bits, wrap'em and get'em to fedex... does mud support gifs? Let's see:

Awesome Dave. My brother is getting married in December and we'll be up in Corvallis OR and Olympia WA over and around Christmas for that and to visit my sister in law. It might be a stretch to meet up but it would be awesome if it could work out.

I've been emailing the group buy customers directly, but figured there might be people following and wondering what was happening:

Essentially a struggle to get focus by the CNC'er on this project. BUT - I now have all pieces cut and at my house, except for the right wings. Apparently he burned up his two bits this weekend cutting all the 15mm (we've learned that Baltic Birch is notoriously difficult for CNC because the adhesive is so strong) and it was splintering too badly at the end to continue. New bits arrive tomorrow, then it is literally one board of (20) pieces and we are packaging and shipping in the next couple days.

Is the next group buy going to be for wings included??

Next batch will include the wings yes - that is the only one going forward for my sanity's sake right now

LOL, thanks, but as my day job is at Deschutes Brewery I've got plenty of beer;) Anyone that wants to stop by and pick their set up, beers are on me

And as has been typical, the final pieces weren't cut yesterday, but they WERE this morning so I am picking up at lunch and packaging tonight!

@brandon12777 and @abuck99 - check your email for a tracking number from FedEx... :grinpimp:

To everyone else, they will be going out as quick as I can package them - needing to sand the edges on a bunch of parts to make sure y'all don't get too many splinters (those stupid dying router bits...)

I'll show this off to our cruiser group at our meeting Tuesday. Maybe get a few more orders out of Socal for you.

@Cruiser Bauers thanks - I can't reveal customer info but I CAN say there are 5 units heading to SoCal from this first batch and if you ask around I'll bet someone will raise their hand and offer to show theirs to you. Also, I am open to shipping a bunch on a pallet to save folks on shipping. Not sure what it would be but would guess 50% off, plus likely to be much safer strapped down together than bouncing through the fedex system.

Got it-thank you !

CruzerDave... I'll be getting back to you on that and we also have a commercial address to ship to so will drop the price of shipping too. Any in the San Diego area have one of these yet or are getting one soon???

@Jcrider48, @Newps, and @Jimthom check your inboxes!
Nothing leaves Central Oregon on Saturday so the next batch should be Monday, hopefully the majority of them - trying to arrange a pickup instead of driving them in but coordination is tough with that darn day job >:|

Got your email.

Halloween Update
As you may recall I had originally planned to ship these in 2 groups, spaced a week apart. I've been doing a couple at a time instead and it's been rough, so spent this weekend preparing to do ALL in in one big shot and have FedEx pick them up. They are scheduled for pickup on Wednesday, and you should receive your tracking numbers tonight/tomorrow.

If it is tough/PITA to have someone home to sign there is the option to have FedEx hold these for you at a local depot, then you pick it up when convenient. You can do this from the mobile app: FedEx Mobile Shipping Website and FedEx Apps or by calling them: 1 (800) 463-3339

And all are shipping but one because I found a few boards that had been too chewed up by the dull router bit to ship. I am recutting a board <on my dime grrr> and will ship asap.

REMINDER to everyone waiting on a package: signature is REQUIRED and if your plans have changed and can not be there call FedEx or use the mobile app and have the package held at your local depot, then pick up at your convenience.

NOTE that when you pick it up you should NOT accept it if it has been horribly mangled - photograph it for me and refuse it. The packages are effectively very solid bricks so barring a violent ripping apart of the cardboard and stretch wrap that scatters pieces everywhere, it should all be there and okay.

I specifically use the underside of the top plywood pieces as my outside 'shell' so even if they get scratched it will never be seen and won't affect drawer operation - you can accept a lot of dings and scratches and be fine.

Thank you everyone for your patience, understanding, and support throughout this group buy - this is the first time I've posted on this side of the vendor threads and it has been a rewarding & tiring learning experience. If anyone feels I could do something better or different next time I hope you'll PM me or email landsharkoutfitters aht geemail.
Dave
