So now think about adding additional gear to this mount like a high lift or a rotopax which is what some of its "erector set" type design is for. Combined with a 35 inch tire and wheel. Without some sort of support on the bottom it, it will fail in time just like the prado doors.

For the extra coin on the Becky I will pay to save myself the possible grief and expense of an entirely new door.
I agree that this needs tweaked but becky for 950+ shipping is not worth it. Just get a full rear bumper at that point. If these guys could get a brace to support this for under another $100 then at 550 we would have the setup we all want.

I personally don't care for swingout bumpers with a single double sheer hinge. s*** wiggles too much. My guess the price will go to $600 with the support.

FYI for anyone following on IG they are looking into a support now.

Haha yep! Mine wiggles on rhythmically bumpy roads like crappy highways, but is pretty good on slow crawling off-road.

Was it SSO whose rear bumper had a swing out that tied into the door? Considering if that mod is possible with my bumper. Anyone know if that helped with the wobble?

Love to see a company that listens to input from the customer! Way to go @JW OffRoad

Unfortunately unless becky got a pattent it would not cause any legal issue. Its up to the customer base to suport it. Plus any slight difference design and its not a pattent infringement either. So it would only copy becky only if it exactly the same style using shim and plastic strip to support the tire weight. I still strongly believe the support need to be made further toward the back of the truck to reduce spare tire bounce.

I dont like centered tire carrier. Its out of character for Toyota. I did not buy Becky because i dont like the look. At this point Becky is superior but still a lot of room for improvement.

You are right about them looking weird with the spare being centered. Alright who is going to design one that is shifted to the hinge side. In theory it should put less stress on the hinges and latch if supported properly.

I haven't mounted one so this is only an assumption, but i don't see a reason you couldn't mount it offset to the hinge side.

Maybe the door inards dictate where is must be, but at a glance it doesn't seem that way.

I think the price if the becky is offensive so I put in an order for this. Fingers crossed it acts as planned.

Same... somebody mentioned it was almost at “f&$@ it” price. I’m going to give it a shot. I talked to them about placement as well. I was thinking of getting a Gobi ladder on there.

Not a theory, basic physics. Offset towards the hinge would also keep my Gobi ladder functional - hoping this happens.

Getting excited!
