Some shakedown

Time to do some last minute local shakedown. Then drive across the state to load it on a trailer to go to Ultimate Adventure.

Would you mind posting some more pics of the suspension, the linkage, and the skid plate. I really like the suspension, and I really am considering doing what you all have done with it. Also some rough numbers on the suspension pricing would be appreciated.

As a side note, I like the work you all did for my diffs last year, they perform flawlessly, it was a gear change with TJM lockers.

Good to hear you are happy with the diffs! As for the suspension it was very custom and would not have worked like it did without the extra axle width. I dont have many more pictures at the moment than what are shown.

And we are back

Ultimate Adventure was a great way to use a freshly built, heavily modified, rare, perfectly straight, imported vehicle:) It was perfect way to work out some bugs on and offroad.

Carnage:
-Broken Trans mount, found one, but ended up being incorrect so welded in a plate and had a very very rough idle the rest of the trip

-Broken ram assist hose on first day, plugged box and ran rest of the trip with no assist, just std power steering

-Dented rear corners, Dented hood

Back home, Hazzard Fabworks fabbed some 3/16" aluminum corner gaurds, which covered the dents and will prevent new ones. The vinyl guy covered them and the dent on the hood and after a thorough detail looks great again.
I've been daily driving it (50miles daily) with great results. I average about 15mpg, but I climb 3000 ft elevation in 9 miles everyday. Open highway was getting about 18. Can sustain 70 mph-ish on flat highway no problem. The truck ended up heavier than expected. At a stop on the UA, it weiged in at 6020 lbs with just me and my gear in it. (no top)

Playing with some configurations, its been a hot summer, so popped off the doors and the cabrio hoop / door channels, which really shows the cage work.

I like this land cruiser !! something like this we are tried to build.
question what spring selection you have in the front and the rear?

its really usefull the rear sway bar ?

looks great ! Is that a full length FJ40 bikini top ? so if you were to do it all over again would you change anything ?

That is one cool photo. ( with the exception of the Jeep in the background )
Thanks for posting. :)

Nice really awesome build - I wonder if we could get tthe same quality here - I can only think of one shop with this skill level available

What tire pressures were you running on the trail - tire beadlocks also?

#UA2013 Ultimate Adventure Pics

Check out the latest issue of Petersen's 4-Wheel & Offroad Magazine for 2013 Ultimate Adventure Coverage.

Little to our surprise Project "Inigo" BJ73 was said to be "easily the most exotic vehicle on the trip"
