The 90L light went off; I suspect it'll come back on when the aux tank is empty.

Very nice! Can you post up a photo of the Diesel Engine?

Yup. 3.0L turbo diesel goodness.

Another thing about this market: it has a 97L fuel tank. When it's full, down to empty, a little light tells you that it has 90L. I think they do that so that you don't run out of fuel.

But, where the Lexus spare is, I have another fuel tank from the factory. We were on empty when I filled up and it took 150L. If my figuring is correct, we have 160L capacity.

I just looked it up, this market got 180L capacity

First off, thanks for pointing that out. I have my door apart right now and if i can find the parts cheap, I'm soo going to retrofit that to my Prado. Take another look at what you posted though, those trucks have the rear tire carrier. That's the difference. My Prado doesn't have the rear tire carrier, spare is underneath...my rear door panel is the same as the GX. That being said, my guess is it is easily interchangeable.

Keep us posted on how this goes- I imagine it may be easier to do in a market that sold the Prado with the door mounted spare since you have access to those parts (maybe even used?).

Wow- what kind of range can you get with that and the diesel?

Don't know yet, this is the first time we filled it up. Taking it to a game park tomorrow, so we'll have an idea what it'll do out on the highway and mixed driving.

I have 1200 km range with my v8 gx on 35s, armored and kitted out. It is awesome.

Stinky,

can you shoot a pic of your lower dash, please ? - in the US version, there's a blank cover for something I haven't figured out what could go there . . .

considering the gas pedal is drive-by-wire, I can't quite see a hand throttle cable going there . . .

Yeah, finding used bits would be ideal. I found quite a few rear hatches on Yahoo! Auctions but most had the panel and that stuff stripped. Need to do some hunting.

Is this what you're looking for?

Driving around the little 1KZTE I've discovered that this engine doesn't like to be given the berries. If you mash the accelerator, lots of noise, but not much go.

I've found if I gradually push down, it'll shift around 3000rpm and just pull and pull. It's happy just above 2000rpm...

diesel

Not much done to it yet. Running boards off. Snorkel installed. We were supposed to spring for our RTT this week, but life has been a bit busy.

Haven't posted a pic of it in awhile... The only "mods" I've done so far are to hard wire the ARB into the truck (just to the starting battery--we never sit long enough to warrant a dual battery set up) and to add the Eezi-Awn RTT.

The wife christened her "Lemonade".
