Doubt any of this was changed within the last 471k miles of this trucks life, but…. After 3 stripped screws (which I had to drill out) and the front seal going in hard, it’s all successful completed. Up next is the Distributor o ring.

Good work. I was super freaked out about doing it. I have done this for two rigs now. Good job jumping in there and getting it done. You can handle the O ring when you do the valve cover gasket!! Easy peasy!!

Did you say 471,000 miles????

I wouldn't be surprised if your dizzy has an internal oil leak at that milage.
471k! Wow.

Just as an FYI for those members who may not know this. The Factory Toyota Phillips head screws used on the oil pump cover will be a real bitch to remove if you use the wrong Phillips head screw driver bit. Plus using the wrong bit will result in more then a few screw heads stripping out on your oil pump cover. The correct bit to use is a JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) bit. Below is a link to where you can buy the correct bits.

If you want to buy complete sets of JIS bits use the link listed below.

That upper oil pan seal project has its own FAQ that I wrote up ions ago. It's no joke of a project!!

This is solid advice, glad you brought it up. JIS drivers will save a lot of headache. I also recommend picking up a JIS set from Amazon or McMaster McMaster-Carr - https://www.mcmaster.com/53325A61/
