I went with electric drill to do the work, hand tighten all the screws would of taken forever and chapo tunnel.

@Qball, i really like the rack.....First time i ever saw it in person was on @Qball s truck and it is making me think about getting rid of my ARB and getting now of these for my tacoma and my LC.

The rack has endless possibilities in mounting acc and lights. The ARB rack you have to buy clamps for all the lights and acc that one needs to fix onto the rack. Not to mention the price. $1200 vs 8 or 900. prinsu wins!

only draw back is the black oxide hardware! will rust, just a matter of time. I would probably tell them not to include the hardware because i would go out and purchase titanium nuts and bolts or stainless ones.

Yeah. I love it for that reason. Looking into side and rear lights which this will easily manage and keep hidden as well.

Wow.. stout looking rack... Rail that runs the length of the Rain gutter.. awesome. How is the fit?

How tall is the front edge and the rear edge?

GL

well, and to think I'm usually going crazy if I have one bit of hardware leftover after a job... but 150...? The horror... the...horror....

Usually when there is unexplained left over parts I would wonder.....where did I F it up? LOL

Yeah it was bothering us to no end until we finally gave up and said F it.

I was thinking about making some Wits' End packaging and selling them as spare hardware. :flipoff2:

QBall and I were literally at our freaking wit's end. But I gotta say it's a damn nice rack.

You do have to remove the factory rack but the ribs can remain. The cross bars are 1" tall and sit about 1/2" above the ribs and the side rails extend 1/4" above the cross bars so overall the rack is 1-3/4" taller than the ribs which were the tallest point after removing the factory rack.

@Dissent Very good write up.. thanks for sharing. What is the height from rain gutter to top side of Rack? Thanks again

Thank you. At the front and rear, where the gutter slopes downward, it's 6" tall measured from the top of the gutter moulding. In the middle, above the rear door, it's 5-5/8" from the top of the moulding to the top of the side rail.

@Dissent .. Thank you

I just ordered two sets of these 18W LED flood lights.

Signstek 2*18W CREE LED Flood Light Headlight Work Light Lamp off Road High Power ATV Jeep 4x4 Tractor off Road Light Fog Driving Bar Rree Truck SUV Car IP67 Waterproof Dustproof Shockproof (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GLLW3AM/?tag=ihco-20

Each order is $20 for a pair so I'm getting 4 total. One of the guys in the local cruiser group had one a a backup light and it's perfect.

Planning on mounting one on each side under the rack to shine out of the oval window on the rack side rail placed just above the sliding windows as a camp light and one or two on the back for backup/camp lights.

I have to figure out what to do with the OEM spoiler. It's sort of in the way.

@NLXTACY WWNLXD?

@NLXTACY WWNLXD?

I was originally getting this rack with QBall. At the last minute I dropped out because I needed those funds for Wits' End R&D. Now that I've had time to consider things, I would still go this route.

I would modify I few minor things to make wiring cleaner and mounting accessories easier.

Wiring is not hard. You just need to make some tough decisions in the beginning and then just dig in once those decisions are made. Because the snorkel is soooo close to the front of the rack I would just route wires through the snorkel instead of popping a hole in the roof. But...if I hadn't already sealed up my nutserts for the OEM roof rack with QuickSteel then I would just use one of the nutsert's location as my entry point and use a Heyco passthru and call it a day.

I'm considering just that, use an existing nutcert hole with a single sheath, multi-cable penetration using a Heyco connector.

My Prinsu Rack has been getting lots of use. It gets loaded up again this weekend for the holiday weekend and several hundred miles offroad. Still super happy with the rack after a few months of putting it through it's paces. Don't let it leave the 80 series section yet ;) but I happen to know of a 100/200 series Prinsu rack in the works. :P But we can enjoy being unique for a bit longer.

So for those of use who haven't removed the factory "rack" but would like something like this, are the mounts high enough to clear the plastic stuff on my roof currently?
