Brian I am heading up Thursday afternoon to go to Waynesboro, spending the evening there with friends. I'll be at the campground maybe around noontime on Friday. I am not interested in Crozet but if others want to head out there, no worries.

Jon - did you wind up booking a site?
Janet just gave me the green light to go, but initial web review is it's all booked up.
Or - anyone care if I crash their site? Hopefully they aren't psychos about tent pads etc - flash back to linville falls!

You guys are coming up to my neck of the woods! Ironically, I'll be at Wrightsville Beach, NC that weekend.

Just FYI: She Creek is actually a public road, so it'll be open. But it travels through private property almost the whole way from Crabtree Meadows down to the bottom. So the issue is that there are side trails and obstacles off the main trail that are off limits. Stay on the trail and it's cool. It's obvious that many fail to follow those instructions, but please avoid temptation. Local landowners will appreciate it.

FR162 (aka Rocky Run or Big Levels Trail) from FS 42 to the Bald Mountain overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway has recently been "maintained" by the FS. So it's a bit milder than usual these days. I was there last week. Still fun. There is a line that cuts the switchbacks as you climb up from FR 42. This is technically off trail and I'm pretty sure the FS doesn't like it. Though it looks fun.

Sorry for the intrusion, but I routinely search the relatively local clubs to see who is coming up this way. I live in Charlottesville and love meeting new folks. Never been to the Crozet location. Kinda rough for my 80.

NO - haven't booked a site. We still plan to go as long as there is a place for us to park...procrastination got the best of us this time...:censor:

Again, don't want to speak for Brett, but maybe he'll let you crash his spot Jared. We should be cool with two trucks per spot, not sure about the tent pad thing.

Ted, cool, thanks for the info! We're pretty good about staying on marked trails/roads. We're not your average bunch of yahoos! We're a special bunch of yahoos!

I'm heading up to your neck of the woods, you're heading to my neck of the beach!

Thanks again!

Thanks for the info Ted!

As far as camping - I think we'll be fine - Eric mentioned he has a tent pad if they are anal - plus I'll likely just be sleeping in my truck...
Looking forward to it!

Sorry gents...I can't make it now. I have an old friend coming into town that weekend to spend some time with our family.

Jon or Jared you are welcome to have my spot. I can forward the reservation details to you.

Brett - hate you can't make it - PM me the details or shoot it to my email jared (dot) haden (at) gmail . com

Just sent it to you in email...pretty sure that both you and Jon can stay at my spot with no problems. I made the reservation for 4 people and 2 cars.

Just fyi, this trip should be trackable in real-time over teh interwebs. I will post the link Wed or Thurs.

I'm down with group dinners - should we do Fri & Sat or just Sat?
When is everyone (minus Joe) planning on heading up - want to make it a convoy?
I feel a google doc coming on!

Ramon, when are you guys heading out?

Pretty sure Fri morning. We didn't get the site for Thurs night, and we both took off Fri.....
