Had some extra axles and tires and wheels laying around and thought I would build a tractor! Simple spring over with 34-9-16 tsl's on splits! thought maybe the tall skinny croud hangs out here..

I love the look as well! I ran 34x9.50's back in the day on my first 40 and loved them for the red clay muck we have in the south because they would really dig!!

Sean, After driving my truck for 10 years nothing feels tippy compared to the 45.It drives fine,you have to be cautious at times,but it does well.The nice surprise is how easy it is to steer,feels like ps,but all stock still! Johnny, the canvas is one of Jims first batch

I did get some extra canvas,just too lazy to deal with it! And dont want to open up a can of worms with the fst doors,I hate the way these were put together,fear of all the screws stripping and breaking! Johnny, this top is on its second winter,should I treat it,I have not touched it since new! It is water proof still and in good shape,just faded...
The best thing I have found is canvak...I usually do it 12-16 months...mine is a DD
If you do use canvak use a spray bottle...usually works better...one gallon should just cover one top...cabelas has it
looks like it held up really good...the canvak will hold dirt and darken the canvas up a bit...it actually helps in sealing the canvas as well as preserves it.

I know what you mean. I bought a replacement Kayline top from MAF back in 94. The replacement door skins are still waiting to be installed. Figure I would wait until I paint the doors to install. Still have the OEM weather stripping in the bags also. I believe it was less then $20 for the two doors.
Don't worry Johnny this 72 didn't fool me for a minute. I could tell it still had way more OEM steel on it.

It may not be oem steel...but it is canadian steel and it's so thick 3/16" sides I could honestly call it a Tank
if it werent for the thick steel it would have rotten to nothingness when i 1st bought the cruiser the oem steel body 'looked' really good...however it turned out to be a bondo buggy...i still have a piece of the bondo as a momento

I thought about using one of the poor wally tubs you have back east. Those seem like they would really be a tank. Problem is I couldn't justify the cost until my tub rusted. I'm just waiting and waiting and waiting.....

This 40 is 99% rust free,the only rust I found was under the carpet in the toolbox even then it was only surface rust.Sucks living in california!!!

99% of the time they never rubbed...only one time did i see the paint scuffed off on the drag link...that wheeling trip was hard turns with the wheels stuffed around some trees...
