I am not a noob to the off road world.....lol. My tires were aired down. 31s, leaf springs and so so shocks are more suspect. My LX470 with good shocks rides like a champ even without airing down.

Took my Dad and the fake 45 to Good Guys today. Mostly to hit the swap meet, but all of it is cool. Forgot to take pix, will do that tomorrow. I did score a cool street sign and old car polish can.

Went to Good Guys again today. Didn't find any goodies to buy. There were 2 40s there yesterday, but I didn't see them today.
Here's some random shots. The big red and white Bronco was resto modded with a Raptor. Basically all Raptor with the vintage body.....which was made into a 4 door.

Thanks for the pictures Jack. The 4 door Bronco was actually an “option” for awhile, so it could have been Ford original. Or the owner could have stretched it 
I have to disagree!
The Ford Bronco was never offered from the factory as a 4 door before the current body style.
I think the builder used a crew cab and adapted a bronco rear body to it. He probably shortened the crew frame.
It’s true that Ford never produced a 4-door Bronco until the current version came out in 2021. However, there was a company called Centurion that took a crew cab f-series pickup cab and merged it with the rear of a full-sized Bronco of the same vintage as the cab to create a vehicle looking exactly like the one in the photo.

My factory spare tire carrier developed some cracks from vibrations. I suspect that the spacers to accommodate the larger tire and the larger tire itself lead to its demise.
So, I have to build something better in the future. For now, I'll weld it up and use it for street use. For off road, it will go in the bed.

Had a great day out in the high desert. Unfortunately the abandoned homestead is not so abandoned now. The road is now gated and locked.
That didn't matter as the weather was perfect and the scenery incredible. There was 3 rigs today. 2 1971s and a 2001 (don't remember exactly).

Does the tire rest tight against the main plate when mounted? If not it will increase the vibration of the tire. Check the CSC free thread. Someone in the southwest valley is giving away an earlier heavy style off a 1970 FJ40.
Did you pick up the "Warn" heater blower as well?
With the heavy spare tire carrier and tire tight against the plate only worries are cracks on the mounting on the tub and wear on latch assembly.
