I have to disagree!The 4 door Bronco was actually an “option” for awhile, so it could have been Ford original.

Does the tire rest tight against the main plate when mounted? If not it will increase the vibration of the tire. Check the CSC free thread. Someone in the southwest valley is giving away an earlier heavy style off a 1970 FJ40.My factory spare tire carrier developed some cracks from vibrations. I suspect that the spacers to accommodate the larger tire and the larger tire itself lead to its demise.
So, I have to build something better in the future. For now, I'll weld it up and use it for street use. For off road, it will go in the bed.
