Build Jacks 40 to fake 45 build

Trans tunnel is bolted down. Shifter is installed. If you notice the shifter cane for the trans looks like wrought iron. It's actually just really rough from rusting under a cover. I thought it looked good, so I just painted over it.
Gas tank is bolted down too. Then I placed the tool roll and incorrect era jack in just for effect. It's all about the details.....right?

Gave the front drive shaft a rattle can rebuild. Rear shaft already has new ujoints but obviously will need to be lengthened.

Got up early to beat the heat. Laid down the primer on the fenders and hood.

Front drive shaft is in along with the clutch cover. Parking brake cable is installed and working. Clutch hydraulics are bled and clutch seems to function properly.

Fuel neck all plumbed and sealed up. Installed the seats for the last time. Although the driver seat is easily removable like stock.

Cleaned and painted the wheels I plan to run. They were pretty rough when I started. I painted the back side black and the front white. In the end, I think they turned out pretty good. My F250 approves as well.

In between coats of paint on the wheels, I refinished the heater box too.

Heater is back together and my tires showed up. Since, I am not lifting it yet. I went with some 31" Yokohamas.

Started to clean up the wiring harnesses. Got the truck loaded up to hit the tire shop on the way home tomorrow.

Nothing better than fresh rubber on fresh rims, and then mounting on a fresh build!!!!

It’s looking awesome! Looked great before new wheels and tires, but something about new rubber and nice wheels really helps tie things together.
Could you please hurry up so we can see some pictures of where you’re going to take it once it runs. jk

I used Ace Hardware brand spray paint in Gloss Ivory. It matched the oem color dam near perfect.

I am trying my hardest to get this truck going. Trust me. Despite the fact it's super hot lately, I am still chugging along.
I got the fuel line from the tank to the pump done. Complete with later model fuel filter. I may go glass bowl later. I am starting on the front brake lines now too. The weekends goal is functional brakes.

I used the 60 filter and got the bracket from Matt, I mounted the bracket on the battery brace so its level. I really like it on my 40 and when it gets plugged it takes longer to get it out of the glove box then it does to swap it out.

Thanks to my friend Jay for helping out today with the brake lines. I think it's the hottest day so far this year too.
We got all the lines made and installed. Now I need to final tighten and install some clamps to hold the lines in place.
