This morning I tightened all the brake lines and add some adel clamps to secure them. Added some fluid and gave it a few pumps....instant 4 leaks on the rear lines. Boooooooo. I tightened the leakers down way harder and placed some towels under the trouble zones. So far, no more leaks. I still need to bleed everything. I will save that for another day.
Then I clearanced the tcase shifter hole and added the shift boots and one knob (other one is on its way). I assembled the horn button too.

Thanks for that. Helps keep me motivated. I like to here my builds inspire others to do work on their projects.

I should make some good progress this week. Dropping off the rear drive shaft to get lenghtend today. Also have an appointment to get the exhaust done on Thursday.

Despite the oven like temps this evening, I spent alittle time in the garage. Had to move some items from sitting outside to the shed. There's a super small chance for the first storm of monsoon season.
My goodies from Mr T arrived, so I added a few easy items to the build. New tcase shift knob and the rear view mirror. Got a new dash pad too, but will install that later.

Details, details...

The exhaust turned out good. It's tucked above the frame for clearance. Made from 2 1/2 inch aluminized tubing with a turbo style muffler for alittle more sound. I can't wait to hear it.
Props to Performance Muffler in Peoria, AZ. I dropped it off at 8am and it was done at 11am. Cost was great too at $380. They have done several exhausts for me and never disappoint.

You get more done before 6:30am than I get done all week. Keep up the good work.

Phoenix keeps breaking the record for the most days in a row over 110°. Yesterday I believe was twenty days. Most those days it's well over 110°. Lows are in the 90°s. Even early in the morning it's tough to paint.

The heat has definitely slowed me down the last couple days.........that and the 5am starts.
Anyways, I got a package from Mr T today. I got the later model jack rods, handle, and correct era fuel filter. I will run the somewhat clear 60 filter. This way I can see any debris. Eventually I will swap in the correct one with its mount.
I mocked up the heat shield and my China carb. Need to fabricate the throttle cable mounting situation.
I should make some progress the next couple days as it will be slightly cooler.....lol. plus I am gonna sleep in alittle.

Man - looks amazing, love the wheels with the blue paint. I’ve got a set widened to 15x8 on my black 40, so 80s cool 😎. Was going to comment, but saw you were done several months back … a little tray behind the seats will keep the crap from rolling everywhere. I’m sure you’ll get to it once you start using. Looks great!

This build thread is in real time. I post pictures as I make progress. I wish it was done months ago.....lol
Haha - I meant the metal work in the cab, saw you had already lined and painted it. A simple lip across the extra 4” you created would be nice to keep “stuff” from rolling around and into front. Many ways to accomplish this, so no big deal … when you are wheeling in a pickup your stuff will be mostly with/around you 😉
