They did okay, claimed to have done LC before. Then it rained and leaks, called them back, they came the next day and reasealed. rained all last week and it is very wet inside again. So, do call them again argue to use the FSM directions, wait a few days? Or go out and do it myself in 15 mins, knowing I will goop that sheeeet in there nice and thick?

That stinks izzy..... or will in a couple days if you dont air it out. ;)

You paid money for a service they didnt fulfill...... id want my service or my money one.

By now I am very used to "professionals" where I have to either do the job myself afterwards or do the last 25% they circumvent.

My wife wants the hardwood floors redone by professionals, and they are doing that next week. Which means I will be renting a drum sander and doing it over the following week. Got used to it when I moved here, it just life.

Its not just Charlotte - Raleigh area is horrible about this. We were shocked moving here - at first we thought it was a negotiation tactic and then later realized - nope - just common.

I think it is more common around the cities and surrounding communities as those who do great work let them selves get over booked to make more $$. The rest see this and follow behind doing shatty work and are like "at least we showed up."

Izzy you should have hit me up.

While I won't say safelite as a whole would do it right I would set it up with my old location and make sure a guy that does know how to do gasket jobs gets put on it. They did mine, never leaked once.

Main problem is that no vehicle uses gaskets any more so the majority of training doesn't cover them very much, they are also much harder to get right than a newer style that just "glues" into place.

I think the LC and LR were the last two hold outs on gasket type glass.

Glass shattered, I went with GlassDoctor, local firm, and I should have known to finish it up myself.

But Jamie's weejub point is bigger than just the LC. I used to think, back in the heavily unionized northeast, tradespersons have typically a long apprenticeship (4 years) and schooling, they learn that trade well, and charge a lot for their services. But, I never had to go back and finish up a plumbing job or roof job when the pros left, no cleanup, no leaks, it was done. Its a little different here....

I beg your pardon, most of us baby boomers can do this kind of stuff for ourselves. :)

@Izzyandsue I was expecting there to be pictures from lifeguard duty today.

As the father of two daughters, I would expect nothing more than a picture of Izzy's middle finger for you.....or maybe a shot of him standing in the shallow end during the hourly "Izzy only swim"!

Izzy has competition on his own thread for humor here!

Sealed sealed more of the windshield, but woke up to this view his morning. No idea where is coming from, I sealed another poetential area and same thing. Will have to sit in truck next storm and watch. Look like it was coming from he side.

See the wetness on the side of the molding when opened door.

Sure the sunroof drains aren't leaking?? My leak before I had my ws changed was in the lower drivers corner

Thanks Al, could be, easy check. But I haven't opened my sunroof in over a year, so nothing should be in there. I see water dripping from the speaker grill, suspecting the gasket more than anything.

We just had a heavy shower, sat in truck with flashlight, didnt see anything, no water, no dripping, nothing. But will use the drain clean cable I used before just in case.
