My dad when I went off to college “Don’t let your books get in the way of your education.”
Tried as hard as I could but still managed to get a degree.

Well, headed to CO Saturday!!

I’m taking my pops and two kids so I’m towing the Pig, but I’ll get to ride the passes in the fun truck.

The rear window stopped working a year ago? It’s a huge pain in the ass to get camping gear and tools out the way back from the back seat. A condition of taking the pig was a working window.

I got lucky and somebody has upgraded the gear to a metal one! I think the old crusty window rubber was the problem. Just couldn’t stay on track and move smoothly. It was still a pain, but it does go up and down as good as any 50 year old does.

This thread was a huge help

I will be in my 100, not my pig, next Monday through Sunday also in Ouray/Silverton with a bunch of other 100 series guys. It’s been 105+ here in Vegas so we are also looking forward to some cool mountain air in the San Juan mountains.

You doing HIH? Did that several years ago, really good time 😎

We had a big group of AL locals going that were going to do HiH and then stay a week. I think the official HiH was cancelled? And out group went from 12ish to 3ish, but that’s ok really.

I’m PM you my # and check in on the HIH thread.

It is so so so nice out there!

Any idea how many 100s are going?

Yes HIH has been officially cancelled including for the future. A bunch of us go anyways and have a blast without all the formality. Hard to say how many will end up there but the original group was maybe 14. I am expecting less to follow through and show up. Rigs from all over the country in the group. I know 2 from Texas, 2 from Kansas City, and several from Arkansas, TN , other places in the south.

Put on my Pig Party ‘22 shirt, got two new trailer tires and packed all the bearings. I’m not going to say it wouldn’t have made it there and back, but 3,000 miles feels a lot better with some fresh grease and getting rid of the racing slicks.

I love this little bearing packer tool thingie.

1/2 UHMW for gas tank skid plate. It was very easy to cut with a circular saw that had a sharp blade. Its made to NOT stick to things so I got this …..$80! tube of glue that it’s purpose is to stick UHMW to metal. Sanded the plastic and tank and did all I could to hold pressure on it. I plan to make some metal tabs for it but that won’t happen before Saturday. Will probably throw some metal banding straps on for now.

The tank only had a few small scratches on it, but I live in dirt and mud town. I really wanted to have this for CO rock town.

To make sure I am overland as **** #OLAF I threw on this 8’ awning I got used 6 months ago. The forecast calls for showers everyday and this will be nice for lunch on the trail all week. I used to harass people about them, but they are really handy when it’s wet out. No stringing up tarps and stuff.

No pics but I also gave her an alignment. Had not done it since the housing swap. It was 3/4” toe out and now 1/2” toe in. Should track way way better now.

So so so so ready for CO weather! It’s so damn hot here. Only thing we do in the summer is boat and swim nearly everyday! It’s 90* at midnight again and 78% humidity.

View attachment 3064750A couple of us have those ARB awnings with the enclosure. You might consider adding that....snaps in place quickly, has floor, ceiling and zippered creened openings on three sides with an additional zippered opening allowing access to the truck. Yours would sleep three when you have additional passengers or provide a dry space when you have extended bad weather.

Hasn’t worked that way for me. But it is very comfy.

Well, the skid didn’t fall off instantly, but still needs some more help it think.

Cruises at 80mph, one hand on steering wheel with correct toe in 👍

Robbed the driver mirror off of parts pig to try to replace my passenger side mirror. It decided to abandon ship on a bumpy road.

Adding some padding to RTT for when all of JMacks ladies show up.
