is there a FSM for the 81-84 bj40/fj40 ??

Mine just says Aug.,1980 FJ4_ 6_, BJ4_ 6, HJ4_ 6 SERIES Chassis-Body Repair Manual. So does that just cover one model???? if so that doesn't make sense. Never really thought that it might not cover 82. Am I missing something?

Did not see this on the SOR site either.
 
Keep your eyes peeled, every now and than they will pop up on Ebay. Since live in Canada I would not be surprised if you found one in a garage sell or used book store. Don't be afraid to get one from Aussie , shipping ain't all that bad.
 
The factory original FSM's for my 1980 have no date on the covers but are copyrighted 1980. The "Chassis & Body" volume covers the FJ40, FJ43, FJ45, FJ55, BJ40, BJ43, and HJ45 all in one volume, and covers both "USA and Canada" and "Non-USA" models. The engine volumes are specific to the 2F, B, or H. Naturally, I have the 2F. It doesn't have a date on the cover either, just a copyright date. Some of the stuff in the Chassis manual especially is out-of-date for my Cruiser. I don't think they updated these very often.
 
what is the # on that FSM NO. 36044E if this is the case
i have 3 copies of this manual cover says AUG 1980
copyright for them is 1980,1993,1982
dates are in the order left to right in the pic

i have a bunch more older FSM .i was just wondering if anybody has the latest one .or at least a pic of it's existence

i have never found a FSM in any garage sale or used book store.and i do look
it would be like finding a needle in a haystack
Canada is huge and our total population is only 34,019,000 million

I wrote to SOR about the manual 221-44 asking if the bj models were covered and got the reply that the manual is not engine specific and that the engines are covered in separate manuals. Curious about the scans for sale on the link you posted- the thing about scans is that they pics usually suck. But many what a price difference......

Yes the problem is he has a limited set of the FJ40 manuals. Nothing after 81. Nor the 75 manual.

Though still a great site and we are lucky to have it.

I paid for the 81-84 manual yesterday. They all come form the same guy. It's not the 81-84 manual. It's the same 80-81 manual we have now. It's pretty easy to tell what years the chassis manual covers. Just look at the wiring diagrams in the back. The years will tell you what the manual covers. The 1980 manual that everyone sees covers 80-81 nothing more. Though 90 percent of what is in it will also cover the 82-84 manuals.


I did score the 75 2f manual I didn't have though from the site. Will be good toilet reading.

It's a pdf file almost 100Mb. You'll get two warnings. One about no pre view and one about no virus scan because the file is simply too big for Google to handle. Sit back, have a :beer: and wait.....

Thanks Rudi, I have downloaded it and I will print it tomorrow. I have been many times to Costa Rica for work, great place.
Would you know where I could find a complete wiring diagram? Also, does anyone sell wiring harnesses? complete set?
