Any of u northerners know any remote camping spots near there. Kind of pointless for pighead and I to go back.to Denver only to head north bright and early to wheel Kelly flats Monday

I'd go Kelly Flats Campground in the canyon, right near the trail!

Doesn't Root have a cabin in the canyon?

We're running a little late...RTT stubbornly clung to green Pig but is now on blue Pig. Leaving here shortly.

This Memorial Day weekend I'm flying from California to Colorado to shoot the third installment of the documentary I am making on the full body restoration of a '73 FJ55. It will all be happening at Jason Brownhill's place in Severance (see Project Moviestar thread) on Saturday and Sunday. I am hoping to entice any fellow pig-owners and their pigs to join us and be interviewed on camera about their personal experience and viewpoints regarding these noble beasts.

It's no big fancy movie shoot with a crew or anything. Just me and a camera.

Why? Besides being an experienced filmmaker (google my name and imdb), I am also a 22-year pig-owner. While to some my devotion to my vehicle has led to talk of a psych evaluation, I have enough creative objectivity to see that the mythology surrounding the Toyota Landcruiser FJ55 and the mysteriously powerful attachment between owner and pig is a fascinating subject for a film. Add to that Jason Brownhill's unique viewpoint and formidable skill in restoring cars that would lead lesser men to run screaming into the night, and you have all the makings of a pretty damn cool film.

Sunday we'll be putting the body on the chassis so any help would also be most welcome. But the main goal is getting a few knowledgeable people together to share opinions, experiences, and insights on the joys (and sorrows) of the Iron Pig.

I know this is a big holiday weekend but hopefully for some it can work out. Hope to hear from you soon.

Elyse, it as super cool to meet you!
I can't wait to see your finished Pig, and your finished film.
Jason lent me your other works, so we will watch them.
Hope you have a safe flight.
I will send you my email address for any pictures that you want to send, thank you!

That's a wrap !

EVERYONE who came out on Sunday for the shoot - YOU GUYS WERE AWESOME!

Everything turned out great. Viewing the footage has been almost as fun as shooting it! Wish we had more time, but the next visit I hope we can get together again to shoot more - especially some footage of the pigs in action. Maybe by then my pig can come and play too.

Ige, Pighead, Julie, Paul, Tj and fam:

too bad you couldn't have stayed another day. the kelly flats run monday was awesome! pighead played on all the obstacles and paul and julie were conned into wheeling the pig instead of the 40 also. there are some pics and video links in the horsetooth four wheelers thread in the club section

ARGH! You're killing me!:bang:

Next trip FOR SURE.

Thanks for the links, but even more - thanks for coming out Ige. The interviews with you and Pighead are GREAT

...next time:
More advance notice + Pigs in play +

Some, if not most, of the Pig event pics are top secret for the time being...
Those that were there know why.
