A few of us CLCC boys joined up tonight so we're hoping to get up this way on the regular and be active members of the club.

This is AWESOME!

Welcome aboard, come on up and wheel with us. There are more than a few who would be willing to camp on Friday, and wheel on Saturday.

Patrick- welcome to the club! The 40 looks awesome not a lot of really original looking 40's around anymore.

I’m Thomas, from the Harrisburg area. Got my start with Toyota pickups, 4Runners, and Land Cruisers back in college at Virginia Tech with the VPI Cave Club. Toyotas seemed to be the vehicle of choice among the members so I ended up with an ’85 pickup. Then I discovered this thing called the internet back in the ’90’s and may have crossed paths with some of you on Off-Road.com, 4x4Wire, Pirate4x4, or other forums. Recent years have been spent more on career and the Toyota has been sitting there… waiting… Due to the usual Toyota frame rust issues, I got as far as a new frame out of rectangular tubing but haven’t gotten around to swapping everything over to it. So the current DD and mild trail rig is the ’94 Yukon.

Here’s a shot of the frame:

And here is one of the truck it is going into:

And one of the Yukon for good measure:

I had been through three rounds of welding plates through the “dog leg” area of the frame to get it to pass the annual inspection and then ended up finding the whole frame along the passenger side under the door you could just put your fingers through. I figured if I ever got around to wheeling it again, the whole thing would just snap in so many places...

I hope you made a jig to build more of thoes frames! Mine seems solid but its a old toy. You know.... I bet you could start a side business.

I remember you, CAZ. I think you bought a pair of Subaru seats set up for a mini from me at one point.

I wish I had the room to have a jig for the frame sitting around. If there were the interest, I’m sure I could work something out.
