This is a Toyota motor home sold in the us. Very strong chassis and axle. That the chassis I used to build my Tacoma on.

View attachment 1290945 Picked up my 15bt and h55f gearbox today. Can't wait to get this swap started, well better say can't wait to get this swap done
The engine was mated to a 6 speed standar transmission I guess it comes from a Toyota coaster it still has some kind of adapter or extension bolted up to the engine it also has the clutch flywheel and pressure plate on it, oh and it has a 24v starter and alternator. Should I try to convert to 12volt ?

The gear box I was told it was from a land cruiser with a 12ht So I'm confused on how to marry this. Two. The gearbox also comes with bell housing slave cylinder and fork

I have done a 15b-f swap into my BJ42 with H55F. The 3b bellhousing works but you will need to remove the flywheel and swap engine plates from a 3b. The b series h55f is 21spline I think and is a different length to that of a 12ht H55f. I dont know where you would find one. I think you will need to import a heap of stuff to the US to make this work. Good luck and let me know if I can help at all. I have some build notes here. Fitting a late model B series engine (14B, 15B) into a 40 - 40 Series Landcruiser Owners Website

You might need to get in contact with some 4x4 wreckers in canada or australia, get all the bits togehter and then have it sent to US in one go.

Oh wow this is really helpfull I really appreciate it. I think I'm going to call Nakata, the man sent me that engine I think he can get me all the goods I need. Hey guys thanks again. I will keep the thread updated.

Your options are abundant with NWFab adapter from H55 to Black box inkto just about any transferase centered or offset..

Great build... I think a build sheet is in order to determine axles tires suspension...

Hello. Ok will have a build sheet. My wheels are factory dually wheels 14". I have been looking and there's not many options on 14"wheels. I think they are 14x6.5 bolt pattern is weird. Not many options there either My rear axle is centered so I'm not sure how to make the offset t-case that's on my gearbox. I know I will need to install a front axle. I'm looking at a 80 series, also looking at a lift kit also body lift kit. That engine is huge and heavy. So yea I have my hands full on this one. I started by changing the internals on the starter to convert it to 12v and replacing the generator next I'm going to fit the front axle. This will be my first 4x4 truck I have always been into tunners and trucks dropped slammed to the ground so I'm pretty ignorant to the off-road world. I just thought my truck would be much useful as a turbo diesel 4x4. This will be a slow build since I'm a Texas pipe fitter and I work long shifts and font get much free time. Ill be on the lookout for all the parts I need here in the US is hard to find Toyota diesel related parts. Like I was advised by brisveganbj42 I need to contact an Australian wrecker yard to find this stuff
Thanks for the comment. I will keep this updated.

Oh any body out there have any of this for sale let me know please. I know there will be many of cutting and welding but that's the easy part. I'm a good fabricator just a little concerned about parts.

Got to ask where you sourced the imported 15b from Japan. Looking at putting one in a 40 and checking out options. So far either an old tired work horse from a scrappy or a decent Japan import. Any tips appreciated.

Check out. Shinemotors.com The guy name is nakata makoto he's Japanese based out of Miami Florida USA he can get any engine from japan

Here's what I would do, and this entirely dependent on budget, but I would look into the NWF Blackbox, which bolts up to your H55f transmission. You can bolt any domestic transfer case to that, anything passenger drop (the 80 front axle is passenger drop). All the domestic cases are center rear output.

Oh. So i can use a t-case from like a nv4500?

Sorry about my ignorance. What's Nwf blackbox?

It is a 2-speed gear reduction box that goes between your transmission and transfer case. It can also act as an adapter.

Yes, you would have to specify the correct spline counts and bolt patterns but they could probably do that.

You probably don't need the gear reduction for your application but it's the only way I know of besides a bunch of custom parts to mate a domestic transfer case to an H55f

Oh. That's good two know. Thanks a lot. So do you have experience with 15bts do you know which engine mounts will fit my pickup/hilux 1993 chassis?

I have zero experience with that motor and very little experience with 4Runner/Tacomas.
