I have one by one been replacing bits of my FJ55 adventuring rig with metal. Now I am on the rear interior. Can someone please explain what the metal cover is for? There seems to be no bolts in the fuel neck, only a rubber seal. I want to cut and bend the hump out of the floorboard and put a straight sheet of steel in place of the liner. Am I missing a reason not to do it? Thanks, Captain Yarby.

The Deed be done. I cut down both of the curved bits to the floorboard and hammered the 1 inch tab into the fuel well. Then I cut along the floor the remaining parts of the curves and hammered them in along the panel line. One disturbing find, there are TWO hoses in there. One is properly connected at the neck and the other has nowhere to go. Its just laying loose in the wheel well! It is a 1978 FJ55. No clue.

Shiver me timbers! My mind is blown! I say you do whatever you like as things seem to be going swimmingly already. Just had a vision of the anchor dropping when you pull the parking brake. I'm with the rest; more pictures!

I'd like to look at it and say something positive, but I'm just not sure what I'm looking at. Is that a harpoon on the blanket? Please tell me I'm not the only one confused, just for fun or a purpose.

I like the octopus on the hood! :)

Here are some shots from Old Tucson

Thank you for posting these pictures, one of my all-time favorite 55's.

I believe the green pig owners will be a little jealous you stole their thunder for prettiest pig at the party but please keep us updated and ignore those primadonna’s.

It was a showing for the annual WildWildWestCon in Tucson. Steampunks come out of the woodwork for the weekend. Lots of people like the stilts guy. That harpoon on top is sold brass. It was about 1am the night before when I bailing wired it up there, so its not mounted as I had hoped. The backstory is that I was an airship adventuring rig, hunting steampunk vessels.
