Is this the Subaru WRX scoop and hood vents on your truck? Looks good painted in the hood colour.

The intercooler has been ordered and should be here next week. The machined flange should be completed next week as well.
I spoke to the engineer and he said that the fan doesn't make sense. Boost is not needed at low speeds (wheeling), and the amount of air flow needed (~4x ambient to the plumbed) would not be achieved by a fan. He's correct. The fans I looked at were 400 cfm on the high side. The IC core is rated at nearly 600 CFM. So even if we are only pushing half the rated flow, we would need 1200 CFM for the IC.
I am considering the fans for my vents though.
Hope to have this installed by the end of next week if both parts come in as expected...

Boost is not needed at low speeds (wheeling)
The supercharger is an air pump. It is always running, even when not under full load/boost. It generates heat. My intake temps average 20-40 degrees higher than identical rigs without the supercharger. At times it gets scary high, like over 180 degrees, and that can happen during moderate loading. I am very interested in reducing this temperature as much as possible, more for engine life than for power. Don't get me wrong, I DO like the power. The fans I am looking at are radiator type fans rated at several thousand CFM. More than adequate. Lifted rigs tend to have higher air pressure under the rig. This tends to increase the air pressure in the engine bay. That is why the Trans Am hood vents are somewhat effective. For that reason, I don't see a small, low profile scoop being able to move maximum CFM down into the engine bay. A manually switched fan will be easy to see/not see improvement . There were no pics from the manufacturer because this is a one-off prototype.
I'm figuring on no mounting tabs due to the tight nature of the fit (~<1/2" between solid mounting points on the inlet and outlet).
No fitment for temp sensors. I'm not worried about the hard data, there are too many variables to draw significant conclusions IMHO. I can do the hand test, or surface mount, but the price was already high enough for me...
Now I must admit that I was somewhat aroused by my delivery from UPS today...
