My plugs don't fit at all. I got frustrated and stopped for tonight. I'll mess around with it tomorrow.

After figuring out the 1st one, it wasn't too bad. I found that if I had the connector clip facing me, I could kinda push the outer ends of the connectors away from me (flexing the middle/inner ends towards me) and rock it back and forth a few times until the connectors seated.

Bingo

yep the first plug was a learning experience. If you get it where you can see the depo plug going into the stock plug the connector has like a step in it. If you hold it by the small edges and tilt the long edge you can see under the lip of the oem plug it will slip right in.

I am glad I got the black ones :) here is a bad pic of a black one and a stock one. Now to see if it is an improvement tonight.

Looks great! I'll be installing mine this weekend!

Has anyone installed these bulbs in the Depo lamps? Osram Rallye 65w Ultra High Output
I ran those in my 05 Subaru Outback 3.0r wagon for 5 years with amazing results. I had disabled the DRLs for better life and had the same pair for over 5 years... Incredible light output.

I think I may pick up 4 of those again since the Depos high and low beams are both H7.

Thanks for posting the osram bulbs. I will order for high beam usage.

@uzj100 Absolutely! Once you install them, post back and let us know your thoughts on the results. I ran them as lows in the Outback and really only ever needed my highs on dark nights or remote roads.

And he just got a new shipment in Dec. That's where mine came from.

So my thoughts on the depo lights. They are better than the oem light output in my opinion but they are still not as much as I would like.

looks wise they are 100% better and I am very happy with them even if I have to put in projectors some day.

Also after aiming the up and down it got better and then I realized I did not have a long and skinny enough philips to get to the left and right adjustment lol. And they are shifted WAY to the left and until I can get them put over to the right a lot it almost seems like they were for a right hand drive car or at least aimed that way, I dropped ranma21 a pm to see if they were for a left or right hand drive or if LHD and RHD were the same part numbers.

Are you trying to aim them like the factory headlights or e-code headlights?

This post (#62) had a link that describes aiming e-code headlights:

LHD e-code headlights are pretty easy to identify by the pattern. Flat on the left with a "flare" up and to the right.

Kinda like "__/"

I looked up the link for aiming ecode lights this AM when it was dark and I had my car to the left side of my garage door so I would have a better view of the right and the pattern was flat on the right thats why I was asking.
it looked more like US DOT VOR pattern to me

Hints:

You might need to start off a lot closer to the garage door to get in the ballpark (and you should see a very distinct e-code pattern up close), then back the car up to do fine tuning.

Something (towel/cardboard) to block the headlight you're not working on can be helpful on this step.

I have the same Depos, and the right side flare is very obvious on both lenses, both at 10' (factory aiming distance) and 25' (e-code distance from above).

They are definitely __/ __/ and not \__ \__.

Cutoff is not hid projector sharp, but it is decent. Really good compared to the stock '01 setup...

I'm not seeing dramatic left to right movement when adjusting the lower adjuster, but I'm pretty sure it is moving.

I used a moving blanket to cover the headlight I was not working on.

Also, I have learned that it is really hard to get a picture of headlight beam with my phone that matches what I am seeing with the naked eye. Probably operator error, I'm no photographer.

Installed mine today, very easy once I did it in the daylight. I'm not sure how they are at night yet, but I will report back. As far as looks go, they're awesome. Thanks ramma!

So dumb question. What lens is the low beam and what is the high? I have my low beams on the smaller inner one but I'm not sure thats correct.

I've got the low beams on the outside lenses. i seem to recall the plugs only working one way (9005 and 9006 plugs have different grooves), but I might be making that up...

one plug has 2 groves the other only has 1 grove if you look at the plug and connector its easy to tell.

Now that I have them properly aimed I am very happy with them Thanks for the start close and cover one light tips worked awesome. No doubt they are left hand drive :).

My light pattern looked a lot like charlieS photo when I started and now I have a nice no hot spot view like others have posted.
